Barbara Walters by Donna Svennevik/ABC
Barbara Walters' 27th annual pre-Oscars special, airing Feb. 24 at 7 pm/ET, will find the queen of the fuzzy lens gabbing with Ellen Page (Juno), Harrison Ford, Vanessa Williams (Ugly Betty) and Miley Cyrus (every inch of your daughter's bedroom walls).... Speaking of Calista's squeeze, Good Morning America will premiere the trailer for Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull on Thursday's show, during the 8 o'clock hour.... Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story arrives on DVD April 8.

Saw Barbara announce this on The View. Although I think this is an ok line up, minus Cyrus of course, BW seemed almost embarrassed of this line up explaining how most of the Oscar movies this year were independent films without big names. Barbara really needs to retire, she will not get John Wayne any longer, time for her to get currant or hang it up!

I wish I knew what spices had to do with this ;)
I agree, the time for "if you were a tree, what kind of tree would you be" is long past.

I agree that this was probably a tough year with the Oscar nominations. The writers strike hasn't helped with the lack of interest. Having said that, I loved Juno and I'll be interested to learn more about Ellen Page. It will also be great to hear from Harrison Ford again. I like him and I've already seen some photos from the new Indiana Jones movie. He still looks really good as Indy and I can't wait to see the trailer.

If it's an Oscar special, why is there only one guest who has anything to do with the Oscars this year? I don't mind the people on the list, but what do they have to do with the Oscars?

And no big stars?! Come on Barbara -Philip Seymour Hoffman, Cate Blanchett, Tommy Lee Jones, Daniel Day Lewis and not to mention: Johnny Depp and George Clooney - you don't get much bigger then those two!

LOL, I would love to see Tommy Lee Jones on a Barbara Walters special. He does not seem like the type to suffer fools, and well, you know....

What do you mean "no big stars"??? From what I understand Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus is the biggest around right now. Most kids have no idea who George Clooney is but they ALL know Hannah Montana. I'm no fan of Barbara Walters but it's about time she give credit to "stars" who are actually "stars". I won't be watching because I hate celebrities but I think this is a good move by Barbara for a change.

So George Clooney is not a big star because kids supposedly don't know him? Other than the ones who are nominated, what do kids have to do with the Oscars?

And what the heck does it mean to "hate celebrities". And why do you hate them? Is it because of all of the pleasure they've given you over the years through their work?

If you hate celebrities and you consider Miley Cyrus to be the "biggest around right now' does that mean you "hate" a fifteen year-old girl who, I assume, has never done you any harm?
