Babylon 5 Has Nine Lives

And it's only on number six. The cult sci-fi series continues its never-ending journey on July 31 with the release of Babylon 5: The Lost Tales, a made-for-video (video? What century is this?) movie starring the happy-to-be-employed Bruce Boxleitner, Tracy Scoggins and Peter Woodward. Set in 2271 on a spiffy Earth Alliance space station, the film follows the adventures of John Sheridan and crew as they try to keep the peace among various alien races. Hmmm, are they sure this film is set in the future? Sounds awfully current. —Reporting by Raven Snook

Holy crap, how far can they stretch this thing?

I swear to God, it debuted on the Dumont network.

If the best the writer of the article and the first reply can come up with is mediocre to pathetic sarcasm, why bother doing a report?

J. Michael Straczynski's WORST day of writing is miles away BETTER than 99 percent of the crap the people on this website rave about.

So please, write the news with less snark or simply give up and get out.

Oooookay.

At times like this, I like to quote Sgt. Hulka from Stripes: "Lighten up, Francis."

Maybe you haven't noticed, but virtually all stories get reported with snark around here. Your beloved Babylon 5 doesn't have favored nation status.

If mild criticism of the undeserved longevity of Babylon 5 is all it takes to get your panties in a bunch, maybe you need to "give up and get out."

Good Lord, Babylon 5 isn't even in the Best 1,000 Shows of all time!

Why don't you save your high state of fanboy dudgeon for something really important -- like how the Capt. John Sheridan action figure just doesn't quite look enough like Bruce Boxleitner.

Wow Chappy, why don't you take your own advice and lighten up?

Wow, that's original.

Actually, I don't need to lighten up, because the suggestion that Babylon 5 is not only well-written but, in fact, better written than 99% of what is discussed on TV Guide Online -- well, that's enough to keep me laughing for days.

I can only imagine what's in that rarefied 1% of shows that are better than Babylon 5......Earth: Final Conflict? Andromeda? Highlander? Cleopatra 2525?

Never said I was going for originality, just pointing out your hypocrisy. People can't have a different opinion than you? Does that make you feel superior? Picking on "Fanboys"?

Some people like Babylon 5 some don't. Let it go...

Let's see, Seahen...I commented about the show. You've only commented about me commenting about the show.

So, tell me again, who seems to have a problem with people expressing a differing opinion?

This was a general news item about Babylon 5. People are free to post here about it, pro or con. It isn't just for the show's pep squad.

And, no, I don't feel superior picking on fanboys, per se -- just people who think they're superior because they watch faux-intelligent sci-fi/fantasy shows.
