Baby News: Hasselbeck's Taylor-made Son, and More

The View host phoned the talk show yesterday to reveal the name of her newborn son: Taylor Thomas Hasselbeck. So not Dubya after all, huh? Another office pool lost.... Rock Star ringleader Brooke Burke and her fiancé, Melrose Place alum David Charvet, are expecting a son — their second child together and Burke's fourth overall — this spring, People reports. — Ben Katner

Matt, thanks, I just saw you amended it, but on the feeds it still had spawn. I'm shocked, her newborn baby gets made fun of because the blog author doesn't agree with her POLITICAL opinions?? We aren't talking about some clueless pop diva like Brittney. Because she votes republican doesn't make her a bad person, it just makes her someone you don't agree with. You title was completely uncalled for.

Headline aside, I love how the baby is named after the Home Improvement kid who voiced little Simba in The Lion King. I guess the name Tim Allen wasn't quite as catchy.

What's the big fuss over the word "spawn"? According to the dictionary, in this context as a noun it means offspring, progeny, or brood. Its not like it is an insulting word or anything...
:?
Its pretty bad when writers have to edit their creative work because a couple of readers are oversensitive to a certain word that really isn't a bad word in the first place.
