Cutie-pie and Heroes regular Nicholas D'Agosto (aka West Rosen) is signed up for the teen comedy Maxim's Fired Up. In the film, he's a high-school football player who drops out to join a cheerleading camp, all in the pursuit of hot girls (can you blame him?).... America Ferrera's new flick, Hacia la Oscuridad (Toward Darkness), got picked up for domestic distrib by Peace Arch Entertainment. The film, which Ferrera is also exec-producing and starring in, features fellow Betty castmate Tony Plano, as well as Gilmore Girls' David Sutcliffe. The bilingual thriller should hit screens this spring.... South Korean pop star Rain is poised to make an international splash with a starring role in the Wachowskis' new film, Ninja Assassin. Fans of the singer will also get a taste of him from a supporting role in another upcoming Wachowski flick, Speed Racer. — Anna Dimond
