Having already extended full-season pickups to a pair of freshman hits — Private Practice and Pushing Daisies — ABC seems poised to go for a hat trick, having ordered an additional half-dozen scripts of Samantha Who?, according to the Hollywood Reporter. In its first two weeks, the Christina Applegate starrer has averaged 14 million-plus viewers, demonstrating strong retention from that dancing-and-fainting celebs show.

Good news! Has a comedy without a laugh track ever premiered as strong?

525600min, to be fair ABC is also home to Cavemen and Carpoolers, 2 shows even worse then the normal ABC comedy. Samantha Who, much better then the average ABC comedy, just demonstrates the universe has a way of evening things out.

I like Samantha Who but I wonder what will happen once DWTS ends and Samantha doesn't have the protection of that lead.

DWTS is still atleast a month away from ending its run and by then I think SW? will have built a solid enough following that it'll do just fine on its own. Actually, I have to say, I don't understand why there are people out there who seem to think that SW's? success has more to do with DWTS being its lead in than the actual show itself, because the people I've talked to that watch the show say that it is a very good show and that they'd watch it with or without the DWTS lead in.

What are they thinking placing Samantha Who opposite Two and a Half Men?? I enjoyed watching Samantha as I find Rules of Engagement boring along with Big Bang Theory. CBS lost a great show and my complete Monday night comedy following when they did not renew The Class.

Sad commentary though it may be, my DVR and I have become extremely close. I say this only because I had not realized which station, date, or time Samantha Who was on. Pitiful of me, I know.

I just like the show. Hopefully, it gets renewed. The only other commedy I watch is Two and a Half Men.

On the bright side for ABC...I had to have seen at least a passing commercial of it during Dancing with the Stars--otherwise, I would never have known it existed.
