24's New Season Calls Another Time-out

Fox's 24, which already saw production on its seventh season postponed by the nearly wholesale scrapping of an Africa-based location shoot/storyline, has again stopped the clock. At last count, says the Reporter, cameras were scheduled to begin rolling on Aug. 27, but instead they will fire up no sooner than Sept. 10, to allow the writers more time to bank enough scripts.

In happier 24 news, a little birdie (who looks and dresses like Ausiello) tells me that some cool casting news may be just around the bend. Stay tuned.

It sounds like they are making a commitment to do it right!

My first reaction was "this isn't good." Then I realized the reasoning behind the delay. I'm all for a longer hiatus if it means more quality scripts, no doubt!

<pre>There has been only one new casting on the show so far -- Cherry Jones as the U.S. president -- with a couple of other deals at different stages. Reuters/Hollywood Reporter</pre>

Interesting to see where this leads, considering all the Oldman talk.

I think it's already known that Chloe will be returning, and probably Bill Buchanan (as if the photo here didn't give it away). I would not watch the show again without Chloe.

I would not watch the show again without Chloe.

Let's hope they give her a better storyline than last year.
