Exclusive: 24 Gets Up to Speed with Rory Cochrane

And this ain't no hallucination, either, Speedle fans.

Rory Cochrane, whose dearly departed CSI: Miami character managed to resurface last season (as an ethereal vision of Delko's), has joined the ensemble of Fox's 24 for this coming season, sources tell me exclusively. Cochrane will be filling the recurring role of Greg Seaton, a crony of Jon Voight's big very baddie.

Jack Bauer et al isn't the only good company Cochrane is keeping these days. He recently wrapped Michael Mann's Public Enemies, playing G-man Carter Baum alongside Christian Bale's Melvin Purvis, as they together pursue Johnny Depp's John Dillinger.

What say you, "Speed freaks"? Short of another hard-to-explain Miami visit, is this a welcome return to the smaller screen for Cochrane? — Matt Mitovich

I've never forgiven CSI: Miami for killing Speedle.

Good for Rory! He's definitely been missed on my tv!

YAY SPEED! I've missed seeing him on TV - in fact, his death was the reason I stopped watching CSI Miami. I'm glad I've started watching 24 - now I'll get to see him!

He will always be Slater from Dazed and Confused to me!

And he'll always be Lucas from Empire Records for me!

I really wish I watched some of these shows so I could see him in a recent role.

This is a happy day! I've been an RC fan since Empire Records and was crushed when he left Miami. He has been missed in tv land and has only been in a few movies since. It's great to have him back and on 24 no less! It's like Christmas in July!

Best. news. ever.

I've been a Rory fan but only recently. Since I saw his wee chubby cheeked face on CSI: Miami. I stopped watching when he left, however.

Great news! Thank you!

Ditto for me Dianora! I watched CSI: Miami up until he left. I was hoping to see him on another show, but of course it's one that I don't watch. I'm glad for him though.

Rory was the only reason I started watching CSI Miami, and since his departure, the whole show very quickly became 'all Horatio, all the time'.

Not a 24 fan, but will have to bite the bullet, I guess. Rory is a fantastic actor and I wouldn't want to miss it. I am sure he will make this role as watch-able as just about every other role he's ever had.

Okay!! I've been waiting to see him come back to TV. 24 is a perfect vehicle for Rory Cochrane. He will add an interesting acting twist along with Jon Voight to next season's 24.

Yay! I've loved me some Rory Cochrane for YEARS! When Speed died, I quit watching CSI:Miami (except for the hallucination episode, of course). Now it seems as though I have to start watching 24.
