Jon Voight Cast as 24's Even Bigger Baddie

It would appear that so-and-so, who to date has been touted as Jack Bauer's (and thus America's) next big nemesis, is merely doing someone else's bidding. Oscar winner Jon Voight has been cast on 24 as the person behind Season 7's terrorist threat, says the Reporter. Voight's character will be introduced during the two-hour prequel movie airing Nov. 23, and then be featured heavily during the back half of Jack's next bad day.

omg this is great news. I love Voight and I hope this turns out to be as exciting on screen as it sounds on paper to me. Hopefully this paves the way for even more celebrities to be villains, i personally am still hoping for Gary Oldman who was rumored to be in talks for a villain role like a year ago. Maybe season 8.....

This should be interesting casting. With Ricky Schroder on last season, it's intersting to note that we missed a reunion of "The Champ" by one season.

so does this mean tony is merely jon voight's pawn? i guess i'm confused since carlos bernard was suppose to be the season 7 heavy before the writers strike!!

I just hope Jack is careful. I hear Jon Voight is a biter.

Awesome! Fantastic! I love Jon Voight! He's a great actor and I'll think be a great fit in the show.

And to think what a degenerate he was in "Midnight Cowboy". Wow that was decades ago. Voight is a terrific actor and should be very evil in "24". Would love to see it now but we can't rush the summer. Be patient fans. "See you in November" like the song almost goes. (September is the correct month)

Hmmm... It was less than two years ago that the '24' producers
rejected Ben Stiller and Jennifer Aniston as guest stars
because they were too recognizable and would take one
"out of the reality."

I guess Voight is on the other side of that line...

YES. This is what the show needs: A good actor playing the bad guy, and now they have 2 people doing that!

This is GREAT!! Jon Voight will make an excellent new character on "24". I believe he was the bad guy in "Mission Impossible" the movie. - Angelina is growing closer to her father, and when giving birth, I'm sure she'll be thankful he won't be there!! She's giving birth in France, anyway.
Congratulations to Jon Voight!! :-D

I'm totally thrilled that Voight has been cast as a bad guy. As was already mentioned, he's not a hugely "recognizeable" face, but he's got that look... The looming-out-of-the-darkness look that can scare the crap out of people. This guy has paid his dues. He's got his chops honed, and I bet he gives viewers the chills when the episodes begin airing.

And, if the networks decide that "24" isn't what they want, it's still had seven seasons, which is a lot better duration than most of the shows on network television lately...

Cool! One of my favorite movies, Runaway Train, was a Voight flick.

As for Angelina, get over it. It's not like her and daddy are close. Why shouldn't he choose a great role over attending the birth? That's what cameras are for.
