Not long after Carolyn Strauss vacated her post as HBO entertainment president, the cabler on Monday confirmed that 12 Miles of Bad Road would not be making its schedule. A one-hour comedy from Linda Bloodworth-Thomason, 12 Miles stars Lily Tomlin as the matriarch of a stupid-rich Texas family. The pilot's cast included Gary Cole, Mary Kay Place, Leslie Jordan and Ivana Milicevic.

Perhaps forecasting the show's fate, producers for the past few weeks have been shopping the six already-produced episodes to other networks.

I really, really hope this one finds a home soon. Quality tv is hard to come by anymore, and I think Tomlin and LBT would make for fabulous programming.

No, the show is fabulous! HBO is being completely ridiculous about the whole situation. Linda Bloodworth-Thomason is a creative genius.

I can only wonder how much longer HBO will survive. I for one have just cancelled my HBO just for this reason. They have promoted the show for months and months and won't even show the filmed episodes and let their customers decide. I am sure that Showtime would put it on. What a bunch of sort sighted execs
