« WGA Post-Strike Watch: News About Returning Shows
This Just In: WGA Strike Nearly Over?
Looks like we're in the homestretch, kids.
Both the New York Times and the AP are reporting that the major roadblocks between the striking Writers Guild of America and the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers have been eliminated, paving the way for a tentative agreement as early as next week. Yes, you read that right — as early as next week.
The breakthroughs — reportedly involving the hotly contested matter of revnue from Internet distribution — came Friday after two weeks of productive (if informal) talks between the two sides.
Once the WGA strike ends, what burning questions will you want answered, and pronto? Share them in comments.

Well there's optimism for ya, marg49! I can't wait for it to become official, it's taken much too long for this agreement to finally be worked out. Hallelujah!

I HOPE so. I'm in desperate need of new Gossip Girl, The Office, Lost (full season), and Grey's Anatomy episodes...but I agree with marg49. I'll believe it when I see it.

Hopefully someone can answer this for me, does this mean all the shows will be able to come back with new episodes (My faves, The Office and Numbers)? Because i thought since they closed shop due to the strike that that was it for the rest of the season until September.

I promise you that the strike will end in time for the Oscar's to go on as planned, fully written with no problems from sympathetic actors. The writers will use the tentative director's contract as an out for their own 3 year deal. The Oscar's are just too important for all of Hollywood - especially those "above the line" - to not go on as usual (that is, unlike the Golden Globes).

Oh please, oh please, oh please let it be true. I doubt we'll get full seasons of any shows this season, but maybe they can start the seasons a little earlier now? That'd be nice for us.

Too bad, I was kind of enjoying watching people freak out for no reason.

#1 Question - what is the final agreement compared to what the WGA proposed and what the AMPTP proposed before the strike ever began?
I am curious to see what, if anything, either side gained by their "tough negotiating stance".
