Entourage Star Worries Strike Leaves Show “a Mess”

Rex Lee, who plays Ari Gold's efficient assistant Lloyd on HBO’s Entourage, just wants to know what's going on. TV Guide spoke to the actor in Las Vegas on Friday, the first evening of Planet Hollywood's opening event. "This is the first time I have seen some of the producers [and I'm asking], "What's going on? What's going on?"

The answer is apparently, “I don't know," he reports. "It could be a mess because if the writers don't end their strike soon enough, we probably can't shoot [the new season]. If we started to shoot we would catch up to [the already-written scripts], but if we don't start when we are scheduled to, the [Screen Actors Guild] will maybe go on strike in the summer. It's going to be a mess.”

Lee says "three or four" Entourage scripts were completed pre-strike.

"It is disappointing. This is my big break and so I've never experienced a situation like this," Lee says dejectedly. "It's almost like there was a regularity to my year that this has interrupted and it never occurred to me that something like this would interrupt it so.”

Though he rarely sees cast members off set, many were in Vegas on Friday. Lee says he spoke to them and "everyone's... trying to be philosophical about it." — N.F. Mendoza

Entourage couldn't seriously turn out to be more of a mess than its past two sucky seasons.

I feel for Lee, though.

:O

I'm a big Entourage fan and hope the writer's strike is settled earlier enough to allow Doug Ellin and his staff to complete enough scripts to begin filming in February.

If not, I'm hoping HBO will push back the season and begin airing Season 5 in Sept 08.

I support the writers and hope that they get a fair deal. Great writing is what brings people back each week and keeps them loyal to their favorite shows. An actor can be really great, but they have to have sharp, witty lines to deliver!
