NBC's Las Vegas: You Can Bet on New Scoop!

The when: Fridays, 10 pm/ET, NBC

Why watch?: Mike and Piper (James Lesure and Camille Guaty) bond with each other in a way neither could have imagined — or, as it turns out, can remember — in tonight's new episode of Las Vegas (10 pm/ET, NBC). Dispatched to a shady bar to surreptitiously recruit a hot bartender for the Montecito, the surveillance chief and the comely concierge try to blend in by having a few drinks. And then a few more. "[Mike and Piper] end up getting drunk and don't really remember anything," says series creator and executive producer Gary Scott Thompson. "Then a wedding video turns up and they see what they actually did!" Sounds awkward, to say the least — but how will this inadvertent union affect Piper's relationship with Cooper? "The audience has been dying to know more about those characters," says Thompson.

What's next: "[Tonight] starts a string of episodes [in which] we discover more information: If they had a relationship or didn't have one, how they know each other or don't know each other, and exactly what their connection is." — Joseph Hudak

What do you say? Do you think they had a relationship?

Do you think they had a relationship?

In Mike's eyes - yes! He has been upset ever since Piper told him that she didn't date older men!

I thought it was already explained that Cooper was a friend of Piper's father; a fellow marine.

Forgive them, they're slow.

I can't say that I care about what Piper does or doesn't do. Sounds like a been there, done that kind of storyline.

I just read this in TV Guide this morning. What worries me is I HOPE they do NOT have the connection between annoying Piper and Cooper being that they were once romantically involved!! That would make me gag big time!! The age discrepancy AND the emotional discrepancy between the two of them is so obvious that it would be a farce to even have this idea even thought of for a second.

Realistically my thought has always been Piper is Cooper's daughter. And maybe Daddy doesn't want his daughter having relationships with casino personnel (unlike Ed Deline and his daughter!).

Why wont they just give Mike a love interest god...It been 5 years and Mike hasnt had one serious love interest on this show imo it about time they gave the man one...I was hoping it would be Sam but Piper is ok to but in the end i hope Sam and Mike are together

Don't care if they had a relationship or not. I don't like her, I haven't since she came on. Last week when she was packing her bags, we were all cheering, hoping she would leave. No such luck. We want Mary back. we need some sensible woman on the show, not the stupid, annoying, bimbo's we have now.

I wish they would get rid of Cooper, he is no James Caan. He just doesnt fit the part, too stiff, doesnt have the no nonsense, knock the sh-- out of you Jimmy had. What do you folks think?

I love Cooper, and Tom Selleck is doing an awesome job of portraying the strong silent type! I was disappointed when I heard that James Caan wanted to leave the show, but Tom Selleck has done a wonderful job and I love his character!

My take on the Cooper character vs Ed is that he can kick plenty of sh-- when he wants to. Did anyone not see him "packing" sitting at his desk? Has he not pulled just about everybody's butts out of trouble? Has he not owned that part since about the 3rd epi? He's not supposed to be Ed (I miss him too but life goes on) but he's his own man. And quite a man indeed!!!

I thought that the relationship was established on last week's show. Cooper was in the marine corp with her father and promised to watch out for her.

Big fan

The explained Cooper/Piper last week. What's left to explain? Speaking of the women on that show...they are all annoying but none more than the Nail Tech woman. She's horrible.
