Could Lindsay Lohan's Career Be Saved by Porn?
How's that for a headline?
Real quick, because I gotta jet. But I had the thought that Lindsay Lohan's "comeback vehicle," once she dries out and whatnot, could be the Jenna Jameson biopic that has been getting shopped around to assorted starlets. (For the uninitiated, Ms. Jameson is an adult film star and author of How to Make Love Like a Porn Star: A Cautionary Tale, on which the film in question is based.) Scarlett Johansson has said no to the gig, as has apparently Jessica Simpson, but there is buzz that the project could prove to be Oscar fodder for the right actress (and, obviously, with an especially capable production team).
Because let's face it — a lot of people have written LiLo off, arguing that she has crossed a line, partied too hard and been involved in too many infractions to be taken seriously anymore. Or at least for now.
This Jameson bio, meanwhile, will likely be indie fare, so what if Lindsay came in under the radar, acted the bejesus out of the thing — giving some seemingly heartless subject matter a real, emotional tug — and showed up her detractors? Say what you will about Lohan's personal antics, but she has sensuality in spades, and some acting chops to boot. She could do this, if she seized the day.
Just a thought.

Well, Drew Barrymore made a comeback post rehab by playing Amy Fisher and doing Poison Ivy.

If LiLo goes thru rehab and stays clean and stays out of the media eye for about a year and then makes some decent indie films, I think she could revive her career. I think the reason Drew Barrymore got her second chance was because she stayed clean and wasn't a media whore.

Umm, Matt, are the producers wanting to wait, oh, I dunno..years to make this thing?
Cause when the judge(s) gets a hold of that little sack of S#&t, she will be in rehab and jail for many years, god-willing.
Enough, no amount of tolerance is acceptable for DRUNK DRIVERS. They belong in jail. PERIOD.
(Remember we are talking carjacking/kidnapping, 2 DUIs in a month, and possession of cocaine..what a winner...rot in jail psycho)

I think Lindsay Lohan is gorgeous-- even if she is one big mess of a human being--but if playing a porn star (which would presumably include doing many sex/nude scenes) is the best way to save her career, then perhaps its not worth saving. I'm no prude, but is this the only way an actress on the decline can try to win back the public?
There are plenty of beautiful, talented young actresses in the business today who don't sacrifice their dignity to get good roles. Who needs Lindsay Lohan?

First why the hell would anyone want to see a biopic of a porn star ? And two why would anyone in their right mind would cast LiLo ? Jenna Jameson rise in the porn industry isn't like Ray or Ali or Johnny Cash. Make this biopic a Lifetime movie of the week then it will get at least some viewers otherwise no one will be throwing their cash at seeing this piece of crap.

I gotta say ... I would watch it. While I love Jenna Jameson, I can't say that her biography should be a major motion picture. She had the typical life of someone who became a porn star. The only difference is that she has parlayed her success into a successful business career. I believe, although I may be wrong, that she commands more per pic than any other adult actress and that is something to be proud of.
That being said, I will watch the movie, unless they get someone I don't want to see naked, which they probably won't do.

Isn't this ironic. A porn star who longed to be a legitimate actress instead becomes an indie darling when an A-list actress plays her. No wonder young hollywood is boozing it up and going commando.....

Lindsay has never been a great actress and doesn't look anything like Jenna Jameson. Therefore I really don't think she'd be good for the part. At this point Lindsay would probably do better if she stared in the real thing.
Also I couldn't see Scarlett Johansson in that part either since she's just not that good looking. Seriously I don't see how ScarJo is considered good looking. Is it her ample chest? It's certainly not her average face and oversized looking lips. Jessica Simpson has the look but seriously lacks award winning acting ability. Though I'm not sure why you must insist on acting ability for this role.
However, I'd have to agree with Scorned1. What's the point of making a mainstream movie about a porn-star in the first place?

I'm not ready to write her off yet. She's a young girl (still only 21) raised in a very unstable environment with no parental intervention. Honestly, given the circumstances, I'm not sure how she was expected to turn out normal. The girl's a mess, but I am hopeful that she can turn things around. For those of you who say she has no talent, I completely disagree. The talent was evident as early on as her debut in The Parent Trap. She's a good actress. I hope that one day, when she gets herself together, we can see her blossom in adult roles. I'm rooting for her.
