Zach Braff: Scrubs Finale May Leave Fans "Furious"

Though the status of Scrubs is up in the air — and will continue to be until the mid-May upfronts — Zach Braff is certain about one thing: If the season finale winds up being the series finale, fans will be left none too satisfied. "[Series creator] Bill Lawrence doesn't love cliff-hangers, but everyone sort of talked him into doing it this season, and he put a giant one at the end," Braff told TVGuide.com at a Thursday press event for The Ex (in theaters next Friday). "So if this were the end of the series, knowing what the [cliff-hanger] is, I think the entire fan base would be furious." (Check out Ausiello's vodcast No. 10 for more on the big twist.)

Of course, should NBC take a pass on Scrubs' seventh season, ABC Entertainment prez Stephen McPherson might swoop in and lay claim to the show he years ago developed for (but could not slot on) the Alphabet. Sharing McPherson's metaphor for the situation, Braff said, "He tried to give the baby to his parent, but the parent didn't want it. But now that the baby could be up for adoption and he's in a position to care for the child... yeah, ABC seems to want it." — Reporting by Matt Webb Mitovich

I think they show has pretty much played out anyway. Not the show it use to be at all. Although Dr. Cox is still hysterical (yet wasted on that show lately)

i hope the cliff hanger doesn't involve elliot & j.d. because that was done before, although i really like j.d. & elliot together i hope elliot marries keith & j.d. learns he still has a baby coming - why would she lie to him? also i noticed this season that cox would be bald & then flip to a big curly fro & vise versa, did they move the shows around & why?

Last week, the promos said something to the effect of "The final episodes of Scrubs" - it did not say the final episodes of the season. That led me to believe that NBC is done with it. Which is sad, because I absolutely love this show. However, on the bright side, and am so very pleasantly surprised that we were granted 6 fabulous seasons. As quickly as NBC jumps the gun, that's 5 1/2 more than I expected.

I HATE the idea of JD and Elliot getting back together. Their relationship ran its course, and they finally got to the point where they had overcome the awkwardness of their history. They're not good together - both too neurotic for each other. Plus, Scrubs has ALWAYS been a show that makes fun of cliches. It's always done its own thing and has been unique, and if they put the two main characters back together to end the series, that would be the most cliche thing they could possibly do.

Did anyone notice that NBC did not run any promos for the "last episodes of Scrubs" last night? I recalled they did that last week, but not yesterday.

Also, the picture is credited to ABC because it's the studio that actually produces the show (but it went to NBC after they passed on it).

They better not cancel it! It's still one of the best comedies on tv. Elliot & J.D. are going to end up together, no matter what the idiots who posted before me may think. Oh, sorry, idiots.

I'd love to see JD and Elliot together, but I wonder how convenient that would be. JD's having a baby, and Elliot seems genuinely satisfied with her current boyfriend.
