If you're one of those people who can’t get enough of Idol finalist Michael Johns, then we’re about to make your entire Tuesday. About five years prior to making the cut as a finalist on Idol, Johns was a member of a band called The Rising, and had a real Eddie Vedder thing going on in his music video, “Cradle.”
Your take: So was he a talent that his former label Maverick Records will kick themselves for losing out on? You be the judge.
HOLY COW~ I have that song on my ipod and would never have put it together as the same guy! Hot Hot Hot! He's got my #1 vote from now on! Thanks for unknowingly cluing me in!
I'm curious about an article circulating, where there have been allegations Mike, then known as Mike Lee, falsely took credit for material from a band he was in back in 2000. The allegations are that a band called "Film" formed in '96 and wrote a song called "Q". Mike joined the band in 2000. He left the band a year and a half later and joined The Rising. The article claims when he left, he used two songs from Film. One, "Q", he renamed "So Alive", and the other called "Coming Down". I've included the link for others to read for themselves. Personally, I'm much concerned about possible plagiarism, then I am about the fact that it's been disclosed that David Hernandez, another Idol finalist, was a male stripper.
