Oprah Gets "First Interview Ever" with Elusive Author
Oprah Winfrey's latest book-club pick, the apocalyptic novel The Road, has landed the talk queen the "first television interview ever" with media-averse author Cormac McCarthy (All the Pretty Horses, Blood Meridian), who is oft touted as one of the greatest living American writers. McCarthy, his rep tells the AP, "respects [Oprah's] work, admires what she has accomplished, has an awareness of her book club, and thought it would be interesting to participate in the conversation with [her]."

My 16-year-old son just had me reserve this book at the library and we picked it up Sunday. I am so curious as to what my son and Oprah have in common with this book. Sounds odd, doesn't it?

LOL Matt!!! I had this image of you doing a Maya Rudolph impression of her doing an Oprah impression!
It's a terrific book, BTW.
Glad I read it before Oprah told me to because I probably wouldn't have.
