Injury "Sweeps" Ellen Off Her Feet and On to Back

Ellen Degeneres by Mark Rozman/Warner Bros.
In what I can only imagine is some dangerous, misguided attempt to compete with the Rosie Quits/Hasselbeck Baby headline-making going on over at The View, fellow talker host Ellen DeGeneres injured her back — badly, it would seem — over the weekend, and as a result will conduct her Q&As this week lying down in a hospital bed posited center stage on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, TMZ.com reports.

Among the guests being chatted up by the lying-down Ellen are Ryan Seacrest (on Tuesday) and Lindsay Lohan (on Wednesday). Ellen is expected to disclose on air exactly how this unfortunate, unfortunate sweeps twist came to be.

That's Ellen for you. :^O
Only Ellen can get away with something this hilarious/sad (the sad part her being injured). Can you imagine her being rolled out to the stage doing her monologue and moving her feet (dancing)? God, I can't wait. I hope she gets better. :^O

Ellen has hurt her back before. A few years ago she hurt her back on the show and she was told not to dance by her doctor for a few days. It definitely wasn't this serious before. She had to cancel her show that was going to be on an airplane because she hurt her back.

Aw, I love Ellen! I hope her back gets better though, even if the show will still be great with her lying down.

Wow! This is the first I have heard of the injury! I just love Ellen! She is the best thing to happen to daytime television! She is funny while still being thoughtful and considerate. I do think doing her interviews from her bed will be hilarious! Only Ellen could pull that off. I hope that she has a speedy recovery. I had tried for tickets for the show on a plane, but was unsuccessful.

Gosh, I hope she's okay. Having had back problems in the past, I wouldn't wish this on anyone.

That Ellen! She is so plucky. It's too bad that Gladys in Austin doesn't fly. She would be great to sit in for Ellen a couple of days.

Anyway, I love Ellen and wish her a speedy recovery but if there is anyone who can do this job lying down it would be Ellen.

Ellen leaned over to pick up her dog and heard something snap. Ouch.
