Black Out as NBC Dismisses Donnellys
The Black Donnellys is getting no more brotherly love from NBC, which is pulling the dark, moody drama after its April 16 airing, meaning only eight out of its 13 episodes will have been seen. As Variety reports, the fantastically plum position of Heroes' lead-out will be inherited by... The Real Wedding Crashers, the Ashton Kutcher-produced reality series that, based on the promos, looks not at all "super."

This is sad news. I was hoping that because TBD had few stars to pay lots of money to, that it would still make sense for NBC to keep it. Hope the remaining episodes will be on NBC.com.

Egads! I didn't watch TBD, but the replacement show doesn't sound great either. Not that I care as I'm in bed at that time.

They are replacing TBD with a reality show? Seriously? Guess I'll be going to bed early on Mondays. First they pull Studio 60, now The Black Donnelly's? If it weren't for Heroes, I'd stop watching NBC altogether.
Also, I wouldn't call TBD time slot plum right now, seeing as Heroes hasn't been on in a couple of weeks.

It'll be quite plum again at the time The Real Wedding Crashers debuts — aka Heroes' first night back.

Once again, you are right Matt. But TBD didn't really get to take advantage of the plum spot.

I wouldn't hold my breath. If they are replacing TBD with a reality show instead of airing the remaining episodes of Studio 60, then I would think that Studio 60 is dead and won't be resurrected.

A reality show as a leadout to Heroes? They're completely different audiences. And NBC wonders why they struggle for ratings.

The only good things NBC has going for it are Thursday nights and Friday Night Lights. I won't be surprised when they announce Friday Night Lights is cancelled. They had a lot of quality programming this season, but stood behind none of it. The Black Donnellys is a great show and my boyfriend actually left the gym early last night so he wouldn't miss it. It became his favorite show...he's going to be sad.

And we all know what's going to happen - this stupid new reality show will have 400 million viewers and they'll order new episodes for every night of the week and it will be proclaimed the next big thing.

This is BS. NBC has it's head up it's ass if it thinks the hero's crowd wants to watch an ashton kutcher reality show over TBD. TBD is one of the few shows I'll actually take the time to watch since it always leaves me wanting to see more. can't say I'll be dying to see the next episode of ashton's show.

Unbelievable, there are very few shows that I watch because there is way too much reality crap on tv. Now they replace my favorite tv show with more reallity crap that should be on mtv for all the youngins' to watch.
