VIDEO: Dancing Pros Discuss Same-Sex Pairing

Provided you're not too distracted by Edyta's outfit... this video offers a bevy of Dancing with the Stars pros discussing the plan to round up some colorful celebs for the coming season, as well as the rumor that openly gay singer Lance Bass might do the show — and with a male partner. (That comes at the 2:00 mark.) Is such a thing even legal in legit ballroom competitions? These folks have the answer. — Matt Mitovich

Derek needs to stop monopolizing the conversation. The others hardly got a word in.

I think Derek's great. Tons of personality. Love him. He and Edyta and Kim seemed the most comfortable. Anna to but she always seems kinda grouchy lol.

If Dancing with the stars does allow same sex partners I and my wife will not watch the show. I have no trouble with what goes on behind close doors, but don't try to rub it in my face, which is exactly what you will be doing if that is allowed.
We have been good fans of the show for every season so far, but that will be the last straw!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

All I know is, if they decide to do the same sex pairing, I will no longer watch Dancing With the Stars! I am SOOOO tired of tv trying to shove homosexuality down our throats like it's a normal way of life. It's not. This is supposed to be a family show.

I love this show but same sex pairing would make me a non-watcher. As a previous person said please quit trying to shove homosexual jazz down our throats.

You have lost a viewer if they have two same sex partners dancing. I have nothing against gays but a contest like this should be done straight forward and with a male and female partnership.

I do not watch Dancing with the Stars but my wife has been a faithful viewer ever since it started. If they pair up men with men or women with women she will stop watching the show.

Ah, soccerbandmom, if everyone was as inciteful as you, the world would be such a better place, right?

"...I am SOOOO tired of tv trying to shove homosexuality down our throats like it's a normal way of life. It's not."

I am SOOOO tired of people like you spewing facts like homosexuality is not normal. Get a grip already and move on! Unless you were there on the day of creation and God whispered to you, "Hey, soccerbandmom, I'm going to make Adam and Eve because Adam and Steve is soooo not normal," I don't want to hear it.

Please step aside because we are here ....

Oh, and by the way, I have never watched DWTS, but they would definitely get one new viewer if they went ahead with same-sex pairing.

Let the competition begin!

I would not watch Dancing with the Stars if they had same sex pairing. Enough is enough with this gay/leisbian stuff. Stop shoving it down our throats.

What maggiefox44 had to say was so important, it just had to be said twice.

Where are they shoving gays and lesbians down the viewers' throats? I must not be seeing it. Is there a specific program? group of programs? I know there are channels devoted to gay and lesbian programming, but you have to sign up for or pay for those channels. I'm disappointed that I'm missing the networks shoving homosexuality in my face. It would be a nice change of pace from seeing all the straight celebrities acting like horny rabbits.

It's disappointing to see venom spewed as if that were an acceptable behaviour. I actually overheard a man at a restaurant complain that the show was "allowing blacks and whites to dance together and that's just not right." He'd probably get along with some of the people who've posted above.
