Cristian Makes His Decision! Who's Your Favorite Dancing Duo Now?
The following contains spoiler information from Tuesday night's Dancing with the Stars results show.
This week's results show offered two sorts of outcomes: Another couple was sent home, but not until Cristian de la Fuente revealed the prognosis for the injury he suffered during Monday night's samba. Toward the show's very end, Cristian revealed that he had in fact ruptured a bicep tendon and that it would require surgery to repair it. The doc and knife will have to wait, though, as De la Fuente aspires to stay in the competition as long as viewers want him and Cheryl around. "If people voted for us and they want us to be on the show, I would like to be there and not give up," he told Tom Bergeron.
As it would be divulged moments later, people do want Cristian and Cheryl around. After that couple was declared safe, Shannon and Derek — rumored to be off-stage lovebirds — were instead sent home.

I'm really upset that Shannon and Derek were sent packing. I don't think it was right for viewers to support out of sympathy someone who is injured and needs medical help -- they want to support him but keeping him on the show risking more injury or permanent damage is just not what I think fans of Cristian would want.

Ok...I'm sorry, but viewers didn't vote for Shannon because she was the weakest dancer. That's why she was voted out. It has nothing to do with Cristian getting any sympathy votes. Most people thought he was faking his injury, which I found laughable. Carrie Ann and Bruno said last night what I have been saying for weeks about Shannon....she's still too uncomfortable with her body. She's a gangly, stiff dancer. There is no flow in her steps. Watch Marissa and then watch Shannon. And I pick these two because they are the weakest of the six. Marissa's steps are not as technically difficult, but she moves from step to step. There is no hesitation between her steps. Shannon does a step, pause, twist twist, pause, spin, pause, kick step, pause......
It was her time to go.

In addition to Shannon's weak dancing, I believe fallout from her and Derek's less than gracious comments last week regarding their scores, the judges, and their fellow contestants more than likely led to the loss of viewers' votes for them.

Somebody should fix the spelling of Cristián's name on the Home Page headline. Just saying...
I think he should go home and have his surgery. He is taking a huge risk, and he shouldn't play with his health, IMO.

I'm still going with Kristi & Mark-they are the best! As for Cristian,I think he is making a terrible mistake by continuing. I also thought his comparison of his situation to Marlee's wasn't right,either. She is deaf,yes,but dancing isn't going to make it any worse. Cristian's injury,on the other hand,could definitely be made worse if he continues. He needs to reconsider. His health is more important than the competition.

Yes it was Shannons time to go. I agree Cristian should bow out for his health. 2 dances every week it going to put a lot of strain on his arm.
I think it it going to come down to the 3 boys Jason,Mario & Cristian to challenge Kristi for the final 3. I think Marissa will be the next to go unless Cristian really hurts himself again.
I know poeple have there favorites amongst the men but there is no clear better or worse IMO between the 3 of them they have have their strenths and their weakness's. I prefer Jason because Edyta is my alltime favorite on the show. I would pick Mario over Cristian even though I prefer Cheryl to Karina. I know, I know you are suppossed to pick the celebrity but it is hard to separate the 2.
Well looking forward to the 100th show ans all the returning stars.

I am concernred about Christian's injury, especially with the torn tendon. It seems that could be made worse with the strain the arm will be subjected to with all those moves. He is one of my faves, but I think his health is far more important and he should reconsider. Christian is a joy to watch along with Kristi, but again, the health comes first.
Sorry to see Shannon go, and as much as I don't care for Marissa and watching her dance, between the two, Marissa was a bit better. However, next week it should be Marissa's time to go.

I totally agree. I believe that even WITHOUT Cristián injuring himself, Shannon would have been voted off this week. She's adorable, but just doesn't have what it takes, in fact, I totally think Shannon should have been voted off well before Priscilla and definitely before Marlee.

I thought Shannon would make the finals, but not after last week. Her tango was difficult and good, but she just cannot dance latin, which is half the competition. As much as I adore Derek and wanted him to go far, not with Shannon. Her dancing does not do justice to his choreography because she just executes steps versus dancing. Marissa at least performs the steps. Honestly, as long as Mario, Jason and Kristi are in the finals, I will be okay. Those are the top 3. We all know Kristi will win but at least get good dancing.
I did not care about their confessional because all pros/celebs have complained in the past. My issue is Shannon continually thinking she is a better dancer than she really is. Reality check, Shannon.
