Top 8 Rankings: The Most Lopsided Dancing Ever?

TVGuide.com's new Dancing with the Stars Power Rankings — based on the weekly polling of you, the readers — are out, and Kristi and Mark are still waltzing away with this thing. Seriously, is there no catching them? Is the ice-skating fan base that massive a force to be reckoned with? Or is no one else on the parquet anywhere near up to par?

For what it's worth, Shannon and Derek are putting their best feet forward these days, and are somewhat inching up on Team YamaBallas. Meanwhile, Marissa and Tony linger in (a tie for) last, veritably tapping their toes until the scythe comes.

Kristi's fan base are DWTS viewers. She is America's sweetheart so why is everyone surprised she has a huge lead? I do not think it is because no one can catch her. She came into this competition far ahead. It is great though that Shannon is catching up to her (another female star). These two would be a great finals. Shannon and Derek are a great pair and Derek's routines showcase his celeb partner well while challenging, and they never look the same.

I would love to see Shannon and Marlee in the end. I love Kristi, but if it is Kristi and Jason, another athlete?Why not just have Dancing with the athletes and Dancing with the stars? Another athlete, another Olympic skater (granted figure skating) is a bit boring. I find Derek/Shannon and Marlee/Fabian more interesting pairs.

Just because Kristi is an athlete doesn't make her a dancer, skating background or not... but it sure seems to help.
I like DWTS because it never seems to take itself seriously. It is a personality contest, and the 'best' dancer isn't always around in the end.
Could it be that a woman may actually win again? It's amazing that women (the only voters) never vote for a woman.
If this is a skaters conspiracy, go skaters - and go Kristi!
(tho Shannon's waltz was total perfection, as was Adam's entrance as Zorro)

What's a scathe? And, yes, it is the most lopsided season ever, both in terms of fanbase and talent, which anybody and everybody had to know when they cast Kristi Yamaguchi.

I agree that they must have known how lopsided it would be when they casted Kristi. She is not only the best dancer, but she also has the biggest fan base coming into this competition. They casted someone with an Osmond fan base with dancing skills of Stacey. I am glad to see Shannon surprising people and I second the hope for Marlee and Shannon making the top 3 with Krisit. Kristi will win, but for a change of pace, nice to see a non-athlete win.
