« WGA Post-Strike Watch: News About Returning Shows
Ausiello's on the Front Lines with AS-P, Tina Fey and More!
Under normal circumstances, running into both Tina Fey and Amy Sherman-Palladino in the middle of New York's Rockefeller Center would have left me giddier than Matt Mitovich after he gets a text from Charisma Carpenter. Unfortunately, there was nothing normal about the circumstances that brought the three of us together this morning. In fact, the circumstances were downright depressing.
Fey and AS-P were among the 100 or so members of the Writers Guild of America picketing outside 30 Rock. Other familiar faces holding "On Strike" signs and chanting, "No contract, no show" included SNL's Seth Meyers, comedian John Leguizamo and Brothers & Sisters creator Jon Robin Baitz.
And me? I was there with a TVGuide.com camera crew to capture the whole surreal scene. (Click here to watch.) Because really, this is the kind of thing you have to see to believe.

Thanks for the coverage. I'm starting to think a quick resolution to this strike is not looking too realistic. Major bummer!

As a fan I am sad that it had to come to this but I'm a firm believer in equality. If film and TV writers feel cheated and there was no other solution but to strike; then I say to the writers: Get Yours.

I should go down there. This is what I've been studying for 4 years (we predicted this would happen as well last year).
If they need a labor consultant, here I am!

I hope your future coverage of the strike explores the issues at stake for the writers in this strike, not just in generalities. So many outlets have interviewed fans, who moan and groan about missing their shows, but few members of the general public understand what the writers are asking for and why, and I hope that information gets out there, as I think it will lead the public to have more sympathy for the writers, who are striking for what they so richly deserve. In support of the writers and hoping for a swift resolution in their favor.

Well, I love that Amy Sherman sees you and runs up and gives you a hug. Still, this whole thing is depressing. News of all the shows shutting down...I don't even want to think about what's going on at the Lost set down in Hawai'i. Please continue to cover this, as the regular media doesn't seem to think it's very important.
