Ex-Y&R Star Shemar Moore Arrested for DUI

Shemar Moore in Criminal Minds by Monty Brinton/CBS
TMZ.com is tattling that Shemar Moore — formerly Malcolm Winters of CBS' The Young and the Restless — got arrested early Friday morning on suspicion of DUI in Los Angeles.

What happened? Moore was spotted speeding near Santa Monica Blvd. at 1:30 am. The cops who pulled him over reported that Moore "displayed signs of alcohol impairment and a DUI investigation was conducted." The 37-year-old actor was then arrested and taken to a nearby police station, where he took a breathalyzer test and got booked.

Moore, who ironically plays a lawman on CBS' Criminal Minds, was released from jail a few hours later on $5,000 bail.

My advice to Shemar and his fellow Hollywood stars: Don't drink and drive! You neeeeeeeed to choose a designated driver or call a taxicab. Did you not see Friday's heartbreaking Oprah episode about drinking and driving? Thank goodness my office door was closed because I was literally sitting here at my desk in tears. Oprah broke me down.

Noooooo! Not Shemar! :_|
He was the hottest guy on daytime TV. I've been wanting him to come back to Y&R but it doesn't look like that will be happening. I think he's firmly settled in with primetime now.

Is it me - or is it starting to look like a list of celebrities NOT charged with DUI would be a lot shorter?

I agree lowbass

This celebrity DUI thing has become a very unfortunate trend. :(

Looking on the bright side, perhaps these stories will serve to spark more national conversation about the seriousness of drinking and driving. It's not something people take seriously enough.

Of all the people that could afford to pay a driver, these celebs could. I don't get it. Maybe they need the publicity. Isn't that the mantra of Hollywood that all publicity is good ......

I AM SOOOO SHOCKED!!!! CAN"T YOU TELL BY MY TYPING? HE'S 37?!! Seriously, Why him? WTF was he thinking? Um, so far like 10 celebs got in trouble in May for doing something so stupid. They have money, why not buy some common sense?

I am not shocked by this news. So many "drinkers" really believe that it could not happen to them...then when it does reality kicks in. :O

No one is immune from being held responsible for DUI or DWI, they must pay some type of price for this infraction!

B-)

Oh I'm so disappointed! I thought you were one of those rare entertainers that had beauty and brains. Hope you learn from this huge mistake.

I am so sick of the lack of outrage over this rampant plague.

Where and when does it end?

I saw a clip of Joss Stone (referring to one of the other young actor disasters out there/DUI) saying "everyone does it at least once".

Are you kidding me, talk about sick. I hope her mom smacks her in the head for that comment.

A close relative of MINE has been in a wheelchair for 50 years because of a drunk driver.

Please all, don't try to judge, if you have had a drop of alcohol or any other drug (because yes it is a drug), just don't drive. Zero tolerance starts at home.

I don't drink or do drugs, and I never will, period. What a concept.

Thanks again for your commentary Dan.

Shemar, I'm so disappointed in you. I hope you realize that you really let down your fans.:(

Drinkers, wake up!! What in the world has to happen before you realize that 1 drink is 1 too many if you want to drive? How many lives have to be destroyed before this sinks into your thick skulls? Apparently, we haven't reached that magic # b/c you're still driving drunk.X-(

What a disappointment another good nature guy that goes out and drinks too much I hope he learn his lesson and get a driver if he wants to drink or at least try to be safe we don't need another fallen star !

Throw him in the clink with Paris...and throw all those underage celebs in there, too...most notably Lindsay Lohan who isn't 21 'til next month but is being served in bars...and while we're at it - throw the bartenders and club owners away who LET these kids drink!!! That's where a lot of the fault lies.

I too am very disappointed by this news. I thought Shemar was one of the good guys, and had a good head on his shoulders. I am so sick of people who party thinking it is okay to get behind the wheel of a car. There is never an excuse for this behaviour, ever!! If people want to get sloshed stay home, get a designated driver, or hire a cab!
Don't people have any common sense anymore?
