Darlene Conley Spoils B&B from the Great Beyond

If you believe in this stuff — and I do — the late Darlene Conley will come through in a psychic reading on WE's John Edward Cross Country. It happens Oct. 27 when Edward conducts a session with Ronn Moss, Conley's longtime costar on CBS' The Bold and the Beautiful (he plays Ridge; she was the flamboyant Sally). The actress, who died of cancer last January, was close pals with Moss and, in the episode, he talks about getting the call that she was near death and praying she'd wait until he could see her one last time. "And she did," Moss tells Edward. "I walked in and about four minutes later, after I was with her alone, she died in my arms. I felt her pass through me. It was an amazing feeling."

A curious note: In tribute to Conley, B&B has kept Sally alive off screen but, in the reading with Edward, Conley claims that'll change and lead to a great story line. A B&B rep tells me Sally will be seen Nov. 1 in flashbacks that coincide with a nifty plot twist, but says there are so far no plans to recast or kill the character. — Reporting by Michael Logan

Not killing Sally when Conley passed on is not a tribute, it was laziness on the part of Brad Bell. Conley dedicated almost 20 years to the role of Sally Spectra. She deserved a proper on-air tribute.

Finishing off Sally has to be fairly low on the show's priority list. They will need to have Ridge and Brooke get together and break up 7 or 8 more times, Eric pair off with at least 2 more Logan women, plus at least 5 more paternity twists before they can take the time to do a Sally tribute. Those things will take at least 6 months.

In fairness to the soap. I think that waiting can sometimes be a way to intersperse the death with a fitting storyline for the actor, BUT it has been quite a while now and it should have been addressed by now.

No I MUCH prefer the idea, and this was the plan, to have Sally forever living it up across the globe meeting men and living the high life. THAT'S how I want to remember Sally and THAT'S a proper send-off. They had a nice on air tribute out of character for her just days after she passed. Bringing her back in any capacity just reeks of poor taste.

Not having Sally die when Darlene did was probably much easier for the cast who had to deal with with their loss. Yes, these are actors but it would have been cruel to have them act it out especially since Sally wasn't loved by all but Darlene was.

I'm looking forward to seeing what they'll do with this storyline and getting to see Sally/Darlene again even in flashbacks.

I honestly don't believe in the psychic stuff and the fact that John Edwards is pathetic enough to play on the memory of a beloved soap veteran makes me sick. I do however think that the nifty plot twist is that Sally has family we have never met or heard about. Patrika Darbo (ex-Nancy Wesley on DAYS) is rumored to be debuting as Sally's sister, so that's most likely the twist.

I think that it is as terrible for the cast to lose someone they work with everyday, as it is for the person's actual family, because let's face it, you often spend more actual hours at work with someone than you get to spend with your own family! That is sad to say, but it is often true.

Passions had to write Timmy's death in along side the actor's death, and I saw, actually saw how hard that was on his cast members, specifically Julia Mills, and I really like the way they continue to refer to him on a regular basis. I don't think there is any other soap out there that does this, and they should. I love every time Tabby has a "MarTimmy", and it makes me think of that diminutive but huge talent, Josh Ryan Evans, and how terribly sad his premature death was. And the way those "angel feathers" occasionally drift down to help Tabby with a tough choice - I always mist over with her!

I think that enough time has past to properly pay tribute to the remarkable, one-of-a-kind Darlene Conley, and give her the type of send-off she deserves. Something with bells, whistles, streamers, balloons, Chippendales and/or Fabio himself - she just loved him, didn't she! - and of course, huge FIREWORKS! I agree that the time has come, and to not do it speaks of lazy writers who did not know their character as well as her fans did.

Wherever you are Darlene, I know your hair and makeup are perfect forever - and you never even have to reapply lipstick! God bless you girl: may you be surrounded by Fabio look-alikes forever!
