Cady McClain Floats Back to All My Children

This just in, from ABC.com:
"You wanted it, you got it! Cady McClain returns to All My Children as Dixie Cooney Martin on Friday, May 2."
(This is where you rein in your expectations, and deservedly so. Back to ABC.com.... )
"Dixie is back in Pine Valley with a mission: She's reuniting Tad with their long-missing daughter, Kate! As the audience knows, Kate was stolen at birth, put up for adoption and now lives with Nurse Julia under the name of Kathy. Only Adam — Dixie's evil ex-husband and Tad's lifelong enemy — knows the truth that Kathy is Tad and Dixie's child.
"When last seen in January 2007, Dixie fell victim to a serial killer.... "
(You only thought she fell victim to a really bad storyline/inane manner of death. But I digress.... )
"Her ghost watched as Tad received a comforting hug from Kathy. It was then that Dixie realized Kathy was really her daughter. Now, with her angelic hand, Dixie will guide Tad into the loving embrace of their little girl. This is drama you can't miss!"
So, honestly... what's your take on ABC's last sentence there?

I'd rather not have her come back if she has to come back as an angel. What a waste. So how does that explain Janets comment of "Dixie Lives" awhile back? Does this "angelic hand" mean she's truly dead? Jesse's angelic hand helped Gillian after she died, and he's actually alive as it turns out. What was THAT all about?

THAT was all about you and I ignoring it and be glad that Jesse & Angie (the divine Darnell Williams and Debbie Morgan) are making AMC watchable again.

I'm with Carol. I don't want a dead Dixie. I want a LIVING Dixie. I am a soap watcher, so I've learned that death is never final.  I'm all for resurrection, so please... bring Dixie back alive. And reunite her with Tad. He belongs with Dixie, not Krystal.

Why the snarky little comments in this article though?  ">
Yeah it is too bad if Dixie is only coming back as an angel or ghost instead of as a live person.
But we SAW her die on the TV screen after she got poisoned. Hard to bring Dixie back from the dead again after that. (Even though they just did it with Jesse!!!)
I am just happy to have Cady McC back and get this Kathy/Kate stuff solved so Tad can raise his child. It has been going on for TOO LONG. At least the current powers that be are trying to fix it and make the best of a bad situation.

We want REAL Dixie. None of this wannabe Alan or Emily crap like on GH.

This is great and ludicrous at the same time. Great that Cady is returning at all after the way ABC treated her last time, and ludicrous that the same hacks are still "writing" this crap. ABC needs to do a new show "I wanna be a soap WRITER" Maybe then they will find some people with the talent that this show and its fans deserve. If they expect us to accept Jesse returning after watching him die onscreen in one of the most gut-wrenching scenes EVER on a soap, then why can't they expect us to accept Dixie's return. It would be so simple to say David Hayward had her and she escaped when she was strong enough. There you go perfect story.

I'm glad to see Cady back but seriously it would have been better if Dixie came back from the dead. Having her ghost reunite Tad and Kate is a slap in the face of all fans of Tad and Dixie! Frankly I'm not one of those people who thinks Tad deserves to ruin his daughter's stable life with Julie! Are we to believe that Tad won't want Kate to be with him after missing so much of her life? No thanks.
I get the Drama in Daytime Drama but TPTB ruined this reunion for me long ago. But I love Cady and am glad she's back even for a split second!

The only comment that I want to make is to agree that it is wonderful to have Angie and Jesse back. Debbie and Darnell are terrific actors and they are great with Michael Knight and Bobbie Eakes. They can act circles around anyone else on the show and it is great to have a story that has nothing to do with Erica Kane!!!

Wow, that's so cute. AMC was able to screw the fans over again without benefit of dinner (probably V8) or a movie (probably Charm!--because cross promotion is SOOO hot right now.)

Ugh! I hope once Kathy and Tad are brought together by the spectre of this horrible character, she will be banished to the netherworld forever. I rejoiced when this self-centered, holier-than-thou excuse for a character died last year. Hooray for peanut butter banana pancakes! I hope after May sweeps, we will be rid of Dixie forever!

I think having the Dixie back is great. To make it perfect lets have the original Babe back. When she was on camera she lit up the room. She was Babe.

TV Gord, I feel bad for the Dixie/Tad fans, but I agree with you. I couldn't stand Dixie before she came back last time, but her last storyline with her lying about being dead, not telling Tad their child was alive, and chasing Zack was horrible. I would like to hear what you think of Krystal. As much as I disliked Dixie I hate Krystal more. The thought of Krystal raising Kate makes me want to make special peanut butter banana pancakes for both Tad and Krystal.

I actually like Krystal, kudagirl (nice to "see" you), but you're right. It would be too much for her to share in the raising of Kate. (I may despise Dixie, but I don't hate Dixie fans.) 
Ideally, I would like to see Tad and Julia share custody of Kate (she's been through too much--losing her first adoptive parents in the past year--to be ripped from Julia's arms. Over time, I would like Tad and Julia to fall in love.
Unfortunately, everybody's favorite scoopster, Ravenbeauty, seems to be hinting that Sydney Penny (Julia) is destined to be written out fairly soon, so I imagine she won't be a part of Kate's life anyway.
TPTB are taking a big risk bringing Dixie back right now, because the ratings have never been lower. If her return doesn't raise the ratings in any significant way, it's going to prove once and for all that a) her return won't bring viewers back, and b) soaps are in big, big trouble!

ABC = DRAMA!!! - what a laugh - when they have pole-dancing; a woman in her 60's dressed in sundresses - 24/7 - 365 or 366 days a year; then there is GH with a little wantabe mobster - and I'm talking about Sonny -not his son, Damian!! - Michael, Jr. would come closer to killing someone better than Scummy - heck, he has already shot someone!!!!
What do I think of ABC - JOKE COMES TO MIND HERE!!!
