Jennifer Gareis and John McCook by Brian Lowe/jpistudios.com, Texas Battle by Ryan Born/WireImage.com
The upcoming marriage of The Bold and the Beautiful's Eric and Donna (John McCook and Jennifer Gareis) has trouble written all over it — and not just because he's a hotshot megamogul and she's an inflatable bimbo doll. After the "I do's" on May 9, we will learn that the bride has a secret past she has not shared with her new hubby.

"When Donna was 16, she had a baby and gave it up for adoption," says B&B chief Brad Bell. "The identity of the dad, who is black, is going to remain a mystery for a while."

But the product of that union — now a strapping young man named Marcus — will soon arrive in L.A. in search of Donna. The role will be played by fright-flick fave Texas Battle (Final Destination 3, Wrong Turn 2: Dead End). Yep, Bell plans to play the race card—mildly anyway. When Marcus first shows up at Eric and Donna's mansion, she assumes that he's with the staff and sends him to the kitchen. — Michael Logan

I am all for diversity on my favorite show... but how long will he really last?! Bell seems to write out all minorities within weeks of their debut! We barely see Charlie and when you think about it, he's just an expensive extra. Look at Dante, Gaby, Tony, Zende, etc.

But I do like the twist though! I love it when Bell goes into the history of these characters and can reveal to us new layers of why they are the way they are! Cases in point: Stephanie's abuse, Ridge's aborted child with Morgan, Ridge being revealed as a Marone, etc.

And BB has been on fire recently so let's hope they keep up the momentum!!!

I am having high hopes for this story since I love the beautiful and talented Jennifer Gareis. She deserves this juicy storyline. Her work with Susan Flannery over the past year was brilliant. Too bad she was not nominated for an Emmy.

Hopefully, this story will play out for the remainder of the year, so at this time next year Jennifer Gareis will be the next B&B actress to be nominated for an Emmy. (I know, I know Heather Tom, was nominated, but she always is. What's with that? This past year Heather Tom had no story at all. Besides, she cannot act at all.)

To that end, show us your acting chops Jennifer Gareis, and make us believe in this story. It has the signs of a really good yet poignant story that may have to be dealt with in the public eye. Good luck!!! My hats off to you.

Marcus first shows up at Eric and Donna's mansion, she assumes that he's with the staff and sends him to the kitchen.

I like the twist, but oh gawd... must she assume he's the hired help as opposed to a simple "Yes, may I help you?" when he arrives at the mansion.

And what the heck is this guy going to do on the show? Work at Forrester? Get mad at his mother and go work for Nick/Jackie? Sigh...

I keep wondering - when will the Soaps section get its own columnist? It's been months since the last guy left and still no decent coverage.

Considering the hard times soaps are having in the industry, it would mean alot for the leading publication covering tv to report on the shows, the actors, plotlines, and the industry.

Boo hiss, TV Guide!
