Antonio Sabato, Jr. Working the GH Night Shift

Things are about to get steamy — make that very steamy — in Port Charles. Antonio Sabato, Jr. has signed on to join General Hospital: Night Shift. SOAPnet reports Sabato — who began his acting career on daytime's GH — will reprise his role as Jagger Cates.
SOAPnet recently renewed Night Shift for a second season and says Sabato will appear in all 13 episodes of the upcoming season, which kicks off next month.
Jagger's return to Port Charles is sure to stir up some painful memories for Dr. Robin Scorpio (Kimberly McCullough), who's got Dr. Patrick Drake's (Jason Thompson) baby in the oven. Jagger's brother, Stone, was her first love and his death from AIDS shattered her life. Jagger also returns with his 5-year-old son, named for his late brother. — J.R. Whalen

Can someone refresh my memory? When Karen came back on Port Charles, what had happened to her & Jagger? Did where they already divorced or did she do it onscreen while he was off? What broke up her marriage?

If I remember correctly, Jagger screwed around on Karen - offscreen.
Tristan Rogers, Antonio Sabato Jr, a new headwriter, promises of more of a sync-up w/ GH, Night-Shift just might be really good this time.

When they recast Karen for that ridiculous spin off Port Charles, they killed her charachter.

Jagger! Antonio still looks smokin' - I did hate when they recast Karen on PC (multiple times if I remember correctly!), they made Jagger into a cheater 
I do hope the GH: NS does explore Robin's past with Jagger and draws on her relationship with his late brother.

Wow, this is great news! For those who do remember him, you must recall how tortured he was about not being able to care for his siblings after they were separated by social services after their mother left. When he finally caught up to Michael, he had to make peace with the fact that Michael Cates was now Stone and his best friend was Sonny (his sworn enemy). Ahh, good times!
Jagger married his sweetheart Karen and they went off to live in CA. He was a cop by then and Karen was in medical school. Jagger did return to GH when he learned Stone had AIDS. He was devastated, again blaming himself for not getting to him sooner. Again, he went back to CA after the funeral.
Anyway when they brought Karen back to Port Charles for the spinoff she was recast (yes, many times) and didn't want to talk about her marriage. They showed through a flashback that she found out he was cheating on her with his partner. They divorced. To me it made a lot of sense for a number of reasons. They were no longer communicating, he probably shut her out and she retreated into work.
At any rate I always held out hope he would return to GH. And for the record I loved Night Shift last year. Can't wait for it to start up again! I sure will miss Mr. Billy Dee Williams, just liked his presence on the show.

I have been a fan of General Hospital for a long time. I only remember bits and pieces of Jagger. But I don't remember him being Stone's brother. Could you refresh my memory? Thanks
Also I don't have soap net, Is there any way I could purchase the night shift season 1 on line? Will it be out on DVD. Also Jason Morgan is my favorite caractor. Love him.

Jagger coming back to GH Night Shift just won one more viewer for this year. I was disappointed in the first season, a little hopeful when they said it would be more in sync with GH this year, but Jagger clinches it for me!!

I think this turn of events is amusing as can be. When Sabato was originally on GH, his ego overinflated and he decided daytime wasn't good enough for him. A series of forgettable B-grade movies followed and there may have been some TV work as well, but alas, Mr. Sabato proved to be merely a legend in his own mind. Now he returns to soaps but not even in the daytime...it's a nighttime non-network soap. There's a certain justice in that.

And if they are lucky enough to get Billy Dee Williams back, I hope they use him wisely and not waste his time again.

What? Robin's pregnant? Oh ya, that's right, they only talk about it non-stop in every scene she's in. It's just obnoxious! I have no interest in her or Patrick.
But, Jagger - heck ya I'll be interested in seeing him again! I might actually watch N/S regularly this time. It might be more interesting than the sorry story about Sonny and his unlikable girlfriend. I can't watch that anymore.
Who else will be on the N/S? I hope it's not nurse Bobbie, because it's painful to see what's happened to her face. Just heart-wrenching. I can't look at her or Priscilla Presley for that matter. Maybe I can hope for Jason to be on again? He is so steamy hot!!!

Wow, macat42. ASJ's career is what is it is, but you make him sound like more of a jerk than any other actor who chooses to leave a show after 3 years. The actress who played Karen seemed to have wanted out even more than him back then, but where is she now?
