300 Set to Go to Battle Again

It's official: 300 is set to go to battle again. Frank Miller is writing the second take on the epic that’s based on his graphic novel, with Zack Snyder expected to direct. Snyder's final decision will depend on how Miller's approach plays out.

It's not clear yet whether the next 300 be a prequel or a spin-off of the Spartan tale, especially when most of the original warriors (including King Leonidas/aka the uber-buff Gerard Butler) were killed off.

While another edition has been rumored all along, it was only last week that the second film was confirmed to suit up for more action. How do you think a new 300 will play out? — Anna Dimond

I hope it's a prequel, 300 wouldn't be the same without the hotness that is gerard butler.

This sounds like a bad idea waiting to happen. It seemed to me the movie was a pretty contained story not designed for prequels or sequels.

This film would not be the same without Gerard Butler. He was amazing in it (not to take credit from the other excellent actors that appeared alongside him because all of them essentially made this movie--not to mention the hottest bodies ever to grace a screen--FANTASTIC!!!!)

I just hope that he along with a few others are in the film if they are to do another. Do I want to see another 300? I'm content with just having the first one that blew my mind away. So unless it can be done to top the original, I say LEAVE IT ALONE!

But if Gerard is in it and other buff hot men, even if it sucks (which I pray it doesn't) I will be there watching.

Doesn't sound like a very good idea.

Remember when The Blair Witch Project became an unexpected, massive hit and the studio got greedy and planned 2 sequels? The first sequel was horrible and bombed and we were spared the second one...thankfully.

Just leave 300 alone. Why not just make another standalone movie with a similar theme or technology?

Isn't this like doing "Titanic II"?

the original was AWESOME in storyline/casting/visuals; just don't believe it can be duplicated, especially not the impact it had on the audience.

Blair Witch 2 is massively underrated. If you consider it a stand-alone movie and not a sequel in style or manner to the first, it's a great horror pic. Absolutely original and better than 90% of the non-Japanese horror films out there.

One last thing that makes 2 so good- the hot-now Jeffery Donovan.

Oh yes...a prequel or whatever, if it has Jerry Butler in it...let's go already! Gee whiz, I forgot that JD was in it too...how'd I miss that? Yes please,...I said please.

Considering how historically inaccurate, perniciously biased, egregiously insulting, & downright racist the original was (whether by intent or ignorance) -- plus its being such blatant warmongering propaganda that one might wonder if its making was secretly subsidized by the munitions industry -- I don't hold out any hope for the sequel, prequel, paraquel, or whatever.

Let's hope it's a look into the lives of the Spartans before the battle and that Lena and Gerard are naked the whole time.

Seriously, can't we just leave a good thing alone?? The movie was fantastically done and the acting was amazing. I don't see how it can possibly work.
