Miley Cyrus Not Interested in Playing Nude Gyrl

Some producer out there is very desperate to round up some backers. A rumor making rounds had teen queen Miley Cyrus hot to doff her duds to play the titular Undiscovered Gyrl in a movie adaptation of the Allison Burnett novel. A source even perked up MSNBC.com's ears by assuring, "There would definitely be nude scenes" for Miley to play. (Undiscovered Gyrl concerns a wholesome suburban teen who gets roped into the world of endless partying and profound promiscuity.)

It's all very titillating... if based on anything resembling fact. But it's not. "There's no truth to [the story]," Cyrus' rep tells TVGuide.com. "Completely fabricated." — Matt Mitovich

Miley nude, come on people, who would believe that?

Has anyone heard of child pornography? The girl is only 15!

Brooke Shields was only 12 when she did Pretty Baby. That caused quite a ruckus back in the day. But after the Vanity Fair thing I can't imagine Miley would be stupid enough to even consider such career suicide.

I don't think that would be considered child porn any more then a grown up actor doing a nude scene in a mainstream movie is considered porn. Porn involves actual, real sex of some sort. Any other definition would mean there are a lot of mainstream porn movies. However, it would still be in bad taste for anyone under 18 to go nude in any kind of movie.

I really hope she has better judgement than that. How could her parents allow that? She's already famous and does not need this role on her resume.

wildbill- what movies are you seeing in the mainsteam with kids under 18 naked? When it's kids under 18 they don't have to be actually having some form of sex for it to be considered child porn. Just try putting some pix of naked kids on your computer and see how fast the cops come busting down your door. The "but they are only naked, not having sex" excuse wouldn't fly.

I am not trying to be hostile or mean with this post (just in case it comes across that way).

Professional Photographers take pictures of nude children and call it art. Just take a look in your local book store. It is not child porn. That would be Traci Lords when she was supposedly 15 or 16 when she made XXX movies back in the '80s. How about nude babies in commercials on TV? Is that child porn? The reason Miley Cyrus won't do nude scenes is like most hot girls/women are insecure about their bodies. If she was European,she would most likely do it since Europeans are more confident about their bodies and have no hang-ups about nudity like the prudes here in the U.S.A. The Europeans laughed at us when we made a big deal of the Janet Jackson infamous "wardrobe malfunction" a few years back. Lighten up, Americans!

I must agree with other posters here who say that, while being in total poor taste, it would not be considered pornographic if Miley only appeared nude in a non-sexual way. Though being under the age of 18, she would have to have her parent's consent.

Case in point: Thora Birch was only 16 or 17 when she exposed her breasts in the American movie American Beauty, having been granted permission from her parents as she, and they, felt it was vital to the movie.

Another example: Keira Knightley was 15 or 16 when she exposed her breasts in the British movie The Hole.

So it's not out of the realm of possibility and regardless of whether you agree with it or not, it would be legal.
