Lindsay Lohan Nabs Killer Role in Manson Girls Film

Lindsay Lohan, intrepid actress that she is, has joined the cast of the upcoming film Manson Girls, says E!. Lohan will play Nancy Pittman, one of serial killer Charles Manson's cult followers.

Girls director Brad Wyman confirmed the casting, while a source says that, even with her recent personal and legal issues, Lohan has been insured to participate.

While the idea of playing someone who actually admired Charles Manson is at once creepy and compelling, such a task will likely be no feat for La Lohan, who was exhibitionist brave enough to pose in the buff for New York Magazine in recent weeks. How do you envision this next turn in front of the camera? — Anna Dimond

This movie will bomb if it's intended for theatrical release. Who wants to pay to see a movie about a of bunch commune girls devoted to Charles Manson. There have already been enough crime shows that detail the real events.

the bigger question is do we really need another movie with lindsay lohan. lohan isn't the worst actress in the world, but nothing she's done has proven that she is more than passable either. those that state otherwise are either blinded by the media's coverage of her celebrity, or just plain don't know talent when they see it. she needs more training and focus before i look forward to seeing her in anything

The plum roles in this picture will be the characters of those that were actually involved in the Tate/Labianca murders, eg. Susan Atkins, Patricia Krenwinkle, Linda Kasabian, and Leslie Van Houten. Nancy Pittman isn't even a prime role. Why isn't she playing Susan "Sexy Sadie" Atkins or Linda Kasabian the one that got off completely for turning states evidence?

Sounds like she got the bottom of the floor part.

Thunder7, that's what those in the business call method acting; we in the normal everyday world call it typecasting.

Oh, don't forget the exhibitionism/ bravery necessary to rip off Marilyn Monroe for New York Magazine in recent weeks...I saw the pics and honestly?

I feel like Jim Carrey's character in "Liar, Liar" when he's asked by his boss how the sex was, and he (now under the honesty spell) replies, "I've had better".

Truly, we all do not need to re-visit the horrors that Charles Manson and his pathetic followers committed many years ago. Why does it not surprise me that Lindsay Lohan wanted to do this role? What a waste of money to even create this film, and what a waste of money to pay Lindsay for being in it. I'm sure it will bomb at the box office.

The reason they make another movie about this, is the same reason they are able to make 4 SAW movies. Blood Zombies will troop to the theaters just for the sadistic thrill of the subject matter.

Point proven even more by the fact that they're already filming Saw 5...

For a film called "Manson Girls" the plum roles might not actually be Atkins, Krenwinkle, Van Houten and Kasabian, especially if it focuses on the trial and post trial events. I'd think the biggest role would go to the part of Lynette "Squeaky" Fromme. She was Manson's number one girl, is likely still a devoted follower, and is serving a life sentence for the attempted assassination of Ford in 1975.

As for the subject matter, while tragic and gruesome, it was a pop culture milestone which along with the Altamont concert, helped to end an era. Also, most of the previous movies were terrible, and many of the shows are sensationalist rubbish. While I don't hold out much hope for this one, I am admittedly curious...
