When the Wildcats resurface on the big screen, look for a few new faces amid the familiar. Following an exhaustive international search involving over 1,000 teens, three young actors have been added to the cast of High School Musical 3: Senior Year.

Who's destined to secure a place on many a young 'uns bedroom wall? The new additions — each playing a sophomore at East High School — are Matt Prokop, whose credits include Hannah Montana and The Office; Justin Martin, who recently appeared in ABC's A Raisin in the Sun; and Jemma McKenzie-Brown, a British lass who had a supporting role in the BBC's The Amazing Mrs. Pritchard.

"These talented performers will bring lots of humor, new twists and musical fun to the film," says director Kenny Ortega. "Jemma... impressed us with her singing and dancing. Matt has a terrific personality, and a great sense of comedy. And Justin has great presence and charisma." — Matt Mitovich

HSM3 begins filming on location in Utah later this month, and is set for an Oct. 28 theatrical release.

New characters to keep the franchise going in other projects perhaps?

Of course. The Disney jauggernaut must go on and be run into the ground. Anyone remember Saved by the Bell after Zach, Slater and the gang left?

Exactly.

They are good looking kids though.

DennyWilson, that was my first thought too. Are we cynical? Maybe, but we are also almost absolutely right.

I don't think they need new characters to keep the movie great! Then again this is coming from a 14-year old HSM fanatic, so what do I know? I think that we should let DISNEY CHOSE WHO THEY CAST AND WHY, and not try to figure it out. I have got to stop reading these stupid (not towards anyone specific, or trying to be mean to anyone) articles! Some of them make me really mad, (i.e Jamie Lynn Spears).

NBBandBGaremylife, I think you should calm down a bit. Nobody is saying anything nasty (yet) about the project or about Disney. There's nothing wrong with speculating about the motivations of a huge corporation. They certainly do what they do in order to make money, and keeping a franchise going is part of that. I think that we should all be allowed to share our opinions. What is the harm in that? I'll certainly watch the movie, but I haven't turned my brain off about how big businesses work. Knowing how the world operates is not a bad thing, but pretending that it's not the way it is, just because you want things to be perfect, is not very realistic. You can't expect the rest of us to do that.

HSM was terrible the first time, a disgrace to the musical community the second time, and the third should bring much of the same. what ever happened to the good old days when Disney musical were actually worth watching?

SirLizard, I didn't want to make anyone mad or hurt anyone. I just needed to vent. I wasn't even really aware of what I was writing, I was just angry because of something going on with my favorite singer. Its a long story, but I was really mad and just took it out on these articles. Sorry!
