The Dark Knight has stretched into the early morning.
While midnight showings on a blockbuster film's debut date are common, giving fans some superhero action to go with their morning latte is an unusual awakening.
Fandango reports demand for Dark Knight tickets is so strong, more than 1,500 theaters nationwide — many that do not open their doors until 10 am — have added 6 am showings of the thriller, starring Christian Bale and the late Heath Ledger.
The online ticket company also says sales of the film currently account for 71% of all of its online sales — and the movie doesn't even open for another week.
So, too early for your blood? Or would you be early to bed, early to rise to catch a 6 am showing of Heath Ledger in a Joker disguise? — J.R. Whalen
