At the weekend box office, Hellboy II: The Golden Army set sales on fire with a $35.9 million take. The Hellboy sequel, which stars Ron Perlman as the oversized devil that's on the good guys' side, bumped Hancock from the number one spot to number two, with $33 mil.
New Line's Journey to the Center of the Earth opened at the third spot, with $20.6 million. Trailing far behind the action and adventure movies was Eddie Murphy's sci-fi comedy, Meet Dave, which took in a mere $5.3 mil — versus the $55 million it's estimated to have cost to make.
