Thank goodness they're not coming back to Houston. When they were here in Season 2, I think, there were many complaints about legitimate singers being ushered into another room and not even getting the chance to audition for Simon, Paula and Randy, while the few idiot dregs of humanity who showed up got a national audience. Every year they make one city the joke of the audition rounds. We've already had our turn, thank you.

Puerto Rico? Sounds interesting... and I suspect they'll highlight one latin star to win the whole darned thing, since that's the one niche they haven't really had a 'superstar' (if that's what you can call an American Idol winner) from yet. Is it me - or is this show already seeming somewhat predictable, and it's a whole year away?!?

ctheslayer I agree with you on that. Not all the legitimate singers get through. I know 2 people that went through to the AI audtions. The first season I knew a girl that made it to Hollywood but didn't get picked for the top 10. She said the first couple of rounds she never met the 3 judges it was based on her look. Right before she met the judges she sang to some flunkie and they let her through to the judges. The other person I knew didn't make it past the first round. They didn't her look so they never heard her sing. So AI purposely lets bad singers through just for ratings. I'm not surprised.

Right on the topic lowbass! What's next? To come here (Puerto Rico) and crown someone latin... It's gonna be such a show seeing a lot of heavy drama from our people that can't carry criticism well. That I will not miss.

Yay! Finally they come back to San Francisco! (Or Daly City, as the case may be this time around with the venue being the Cow Palace) :-D
