Malubay Web Pics Spark First Season 7 Yawn-troversy

Remember the Idols of seasons past? When compromising photos (allegedly) of Antonella Barba burned through the Web? When it was revealed that Paula was allegedly judging more than Corey Clark's singing?

I miss those days, too. Call me jaded, but the first semi-scandalous contestant photo from Season 7 has hit the Internet and it's ... just not that racy. Celeb.tv posted this pic of Ramiele Malubay going for a frontal grab of one of her sushi resto colleagues. In addition, there was an alleged slew of "sexy" pics posted to a fan's Facebook page.

As for the one posted, however, not only is a fully clothed approach not so salacious, but, if you examine the photo closely, Ramiele could easily have just stumbled into her coworker's chest as she attempted to shake her booty for the camera.

In fact, a whole slew of possibilities come to mind, not the least of which include:

• Everyone likes to size up the competition. Perhaps Ramiele reached out to check out.

• Ramiele, being the decent person she is, could have been wiping soy sauce off her friend's shirt. Wouldn't you do that for a friend?

• Who says boob grabs aren't the new high-fives? I still give high-fives, but I'm probably out of touch (yes, literally).

In the wake of this first glimmer of impropriety, are you left longing for an Idol scandal, and WigGate didn't do it for you? Would you prefer that your Idols were so clean their toes squeaked? Or has Ramiele's thin moral fiber let you down? Let us know. — Anna Dimond

Who cares? There is nothing wrong with those pictures. This is just people (the media), with nothing to report so they try to make something out of nothing. It's stupid.

I was about to say SO WHAT when I read this (before I linked over to the photos) WHAT ABOUT HERNANDEZ, having just read about his lap dances for mainly males, but when I checked out the Malubay photo there was an article/pic on him so TV Guide's people MUST have known about it and maybe reported on it before this? If not, did you guys miss the boat? Again though, who cares? thing that bothers me is that Hernandez' photo and comments are posted (according to the WINS item) on that site that made people vote for Sanjya. IF they fix votes for Hernandez (I like his singing and don't care about his "other"hobbies) then we'd be left with another unfair voting system. But whoever said the voting was fair??

Please that is hardly a racy pic of Ramiele. I would rather see more pics of Hernandez.....

Yeah, it really looks like she 'stumbled' and grabbed that chick's boob. Classy. Her singing is nothing special, so it's not like I'd vote for her, anyway.

Looks pretty run of the mill for the MySpace/facebook generation of teenagers. 80% of the young girls on those sites have those kind of pictures goofing off with their friends. Most of whom are just aping actually scandalous celebs for attention. "Look at me, hormone crazed adolescent boy! I'm touching another girl. I'm bad. I'm wild." So lame and so sad, but hardly scandalous.

I missed predicting the first "racy photo" reveal by just a week! (See Today's News.)

It's bad enough for Idol to let "professional" singers to try to 'make it big', but the stigma of posing for inappropriate sexual pictures has to stop. Not only did Paula Abdul get caught up with a contestant, but she didn't get booted from the show, not to mention her suspicious "drunken" state on the show. The music industry is all about image and how to get recognized. Brittany Spears is the perfect example. We almost laughed when we saw a picture of her "exposing" herself to the world as she was trying to get out of a car. We knew Janet Jackson had to do something shocking at the Superbowl. Let America judge the Idols for their voices. As Randy and Simon keep reminding us, it is a 'singing competition'. If the Idols do anything on their personal time or in public, let them. There will be always someone who will dislike what they are doing.

So TVGuide tries to make David A's Star Search participation into this scandal, and they spin Ramiele pics like it's nothing. It IS nothing, but why the smear-spin against David A?

My teenage daughters and nieces have a thousand pictures of themselves and their girlfriends grabbing each others' boobs. It's like a required pose for a Facebook album. Yawn.
