Why SHOULD he have been ashamed of anything?

Oh wait - that cheesetastic performance of "I Saw Her Standing There" - other than that, nothing.

We do what we have to do to stay alive! And if we're talented and hot, we have more options!

So he had to be a naked lap-dancing stripper in a gay club in order to stay alive??? There was literally no other way for him to live from one day to the next without taking off all his clothes and dancing in men's laps night after night after night? However did people manage to stay alive before jobs as naked lap-dancing strippers in gay bars were invented?

Sorry, I got no problems with naked lap-dancing strippers in gay bars, but that's not what you do to stay alive. That's what you do when you want to be a naked lap-dancing stripper in gay bars. And if David Hernandez doesn't have a problem with it, it's sure taken him a long time to even begin to own up to it.

Let's face it -- no one is going to top diablorobotico's post on this topic.

However, I may be in the minority, but I do think stripping is something to be ashamed of. You're dancing. Naked. On people's laps. C'mon.

At the least it's more embarrassing that a booger.

Yeah, I still find this guy creeping me out. I want him to say what his sexuality is because it'll put him in perspective... and the gay community would like him more. But maybe he's banking on that to draw him hype?

Either way, if he was so proud (and didn't regret) his work in the past, then why wasn't he owning up to it until AFTER he was voting off?

Meh.

Stripping is SO not more embarassing than a booger in your nose. Nobody's gonna pay you good money to Booger Dance on their lap. OK, maybe some people would, but there's no accounting for taste. Eeewww...

As for why he didn't talk about it on the show? Did you seriously expect someone to talk about that on American Idol?!? I'm more concerned about Carly being less than turthful about her recording industry experience.

I think it was a shame about David Hernandez as he is a very good performer and singer. Seems like the press just can`t wait to dig up (what they call dirt) on someone and try to ruin them before they even get started. Who cares if he was a stripper it had nothing to do with his singing. Perhaps some of them should try sweeping around their own backdoors before they start going through someone elses. But then that`s the way of the media (don`t say anything nice just poke your nose where it doesn`t need to be) I think if this hadn`t been put out David would still be there because his performance was great.
