American Idol's charitable arm, Idol Gives Back, has just announced the latest additions to its annual charity telecast, adding more star power to an already-stellar lineup.

The show, which airs April 9 (Fox, 7:30 pm/ET), will now be graced with appearances from a huge range of talent, such as High School Musical up-and-comers Vanessa Hudgens and Ashley Tisdale, as well as other stars like Celine Dion, Forest Whitaker, Billy Crystal, Dane Cook, Kiefer Sutherland, Jennifer Connolly, Fantasia and Amy Adams.

The new adds will be joining an impressive roster, which includes the likes of Miley Cyrus, Bono, Brad Pitt, Reese Witherspoon, and former Idols Chris Daughtry and Carrie Underwood.

Viewers can make donations during the show via toll-free lines and the Internet. The donations will be spread across various groups and organizations and listed on the Idol Gives Back website. Last year, the program raised over $76 million. — Anna Dimond

I'm sooooo excited about this year's "Idol Gives Back!" The segment on last night's show about how last year's money helped here in America was awesome! It was very touching and inspiring.

As for the guests, so excited about most of them. I couldn't care less about seeing Vanessa Hudgens and Ashley Tisdale, but I know they have their fan base. Also, I will turn the channel when Brad Pitt is on, just my opinion, but everyone else sounds great!

At least we'll be able to see "Jack Bauer" sooner than the fall, even if it is under such different circumstances.

PS With all the High School Musical stuff, our hopes for the dismissal of the "waving out of tune hands" have been dashed. The producers will no doubt want to keep them there now!!
