The Top 6: Who's Your Idol Now?
The following contains spoiler information regarding American Idol's latest results show.
No Michael Johnsian surprises this week — though Ryan's little "switcheroo" there with David C. and Syesha dropped my jaw a bit. Have we seen that "trick"/misdirection before? When Archie was invited to "join" what he thought was the safe group, but instead got all diplomatic and sat on the floor, I had serious deja vu.
Anyways... it came down to the two blondes, and it ostensibly could have swung either way. My wife wants Brooke gone, but maybe next week. Or the week after. I know KLC has taken some big knocks, but I think she simply "blossomed" too late to reverse her downward trend. Think she has a career ahead of her?
Eh, don't get bogged down with that question just yet. Instead, tell us: Who's your current pick to win American Idol? Vote here. — MWM

Brooke White is so great and is unique and authentic. Since she go through this week, there is no doubt she will have a great career ahead.

It was KLC's time. After building each week, this one was a slide backwards, and she was on shaky ground to start with. If she can put together an album that reflects the quality of her Martina McBride cover, I'll gladly buy it. That was definitely her highest point on the show.

Seeing Kristy go was a disappointment, but once Syesha was moved over to the safe group, it was clear. I think Kristy sang better than Syesha and Brooke, but she didn't have the fan base Brooke seems to have and I guess folks liked the last song Syesha did. At any rate, those other two ladies will prolly be the next two to go.

Dear Akfreak. Please get yourself to the nearest ear doctor immediately if you think Brook is great. She's not unique either just ordinary and not as adorable as she thinks she is. She is not at all a dynamic singer like Carly. Brook should have gone after that unspecial "Hero". She didn't need to play the piano to hide behind.

I have to agree with you, trombone, about Brooke. I liked her at first but her songs are all sounding the same and she doesn't have the versatility of the others gals, including Kristy. She also seems to miss notes. I think it's those doe-eyed expressions of hers and the tears, so no one wants to see her hurt.......but it's inevitable.

The bottom 3 were correct and it was time for KLC to go home. If she doesn't change course, Brooke will be next.
The which-group-is-safe? shtick was worse than lame. And asking David A. to go to the group he thought was safe was mean and tacky, definitely not entertaining. It just seems childish. Stop jerking around the viewers AND contestants so much, producers. If you do that & eliminate the insipid phone calls & make the results show 30 minutes, it would be a much higher quality show. But greed will always win out...

I wish it was Brooke instead. Her voice is limited, and she's already succeeded in showing us what kind of artist she'll be after the show. Even though I find her likable, I haven't seen growth beyond "Let It Be".
Kristy Lee had a better run than I thought she would. She has nothing to be ashamed about. We're getting down to the wire now, and I'm just hoping my picks for the Fab Final Four (Carly, the Davids, and Jason) stay put.

It's all about Carly Smithson for me. Every single week she keeps taking risks and nailing them down, this girl's got class and talent!

It was definitely KLC's turn to go, though I'm not at all surprised that Brooke was in the bottom 2 - her performance Tuesday night was a mess, if she doesn't do better next week she could be the one headed home. Mind you, Syesha is inconsistent so she could also be the next one going.
My two faves are David A and Carly. I'd love to see them as the final two though judging from David C's popularity it probably won't happen... I'm guessing it will come down to David vs David.
I am worried about David A though... he's been wheezing during his performances the past 3 weeks which means he has vocal fatigue (I'm a classically trained singer myself and a friend recently had vocal fatigue and was breathing like he is)... if he's not careful he could do some serious damage to his voice which is a shame because he's definitely the best singer there.

I love the way people express their opinion like it is fact. Music is purely subjective which is why there are so many artists and genres out there.
Personally I like Brooke's voice. I think it is unique and I think she is a real talent. I, for one, will buy her CD with, I hope, her original songs on it. Check out some of HER original music it's wonderful.

KLC has needed to go for weeks. She should have never been in the top 10.

It was a toss up between Brooke and KLC. I agree that Brooke has a weaker voice, but I think she is better than KLC. Besides, I'm glad we finally got rid of the "ATTITUDE". I don't understand why Carly still polls so low. She is without a doubt a real good singer. While I'm at it; Brooke has an album out on Amazon, Carly won a professional award in Ireland in 2003, and I think KLC has a recording contract. Sooooo, how do these three qualify as amateurs and get on AI? Anyway, David A and David C will probably be in the finals although to be honest, if Carly can get her act together, she could win it all. David A is probably the best of all of them if he doesn't implode. Experience means a lot and he is young.

13-year-olds still rule the vote Teenieboppers love Mariah Carrey and don't take kindly to anyone altering her music. That's why KLC & BW were the bottom 2: they put a country-western spin on her pop music. The remaining IDOLS have to remember to play to their audience: the 8th graders who love pop, rap, and hip-hop; the majority of the viewers who actually do the voting.
