Top 4 Power Rankings, Finals Forecast and More!

With your next American Idol just weeks away from being crowned, David C. is maintaining a strong lead in the TVGuide.com Power Rankings, commanding 62.4 percent of the reader vote. Check it out:

Top 4 Idol Power Rankings
62.4% David Cook
22.8% David Archuleta
9.9% Jason Castro
4.8% Syesha Mercado

Contrary to the above, however, Jason is likely the next to get sent home, says 49 percent of you in a separate survey. Syesha is far from safe, though, drawing 44 percent of that dubious vote.

This week we also asked you to forecast who will face off in the finals, and based on that poll there's a 71 percent chance it will, in fact, be dueling Davids. Somewhat surprisingly, the next-likeliest outcome is Cookie vs. Jason (voted 18 percent of you). Me, I still say there's an eensy-weensy chance it will be David C. against Syesha, if only because Idol does like a XX-XY finale.

Lastly, purely out of curiosity, we asked who from this season's Top 10 you most wish was still in the mix. Michael Johns is desperately desired back by 55 percent, followed by Carly Smithson (who is missed terribly by 30 percent of our readers). — MWM

PS. Got a question for when Brooke comes by TVGuide.com later today? Share it in comments.

But you left out Brooke, which is odd because this poll went up after she was axed. I voted for Carly, but that's only because Brooke wasn't an option.

Hmmmmm, very interesting! Would really be a kick if it were David C and Jason OR Syesha. Then I'd really think there's something rotten here. Next few Idol shows should be even more fun, and here's hoping it IS down to the dueling Davids, and I'll be happy, and since I've been going back and forth between the two, even though I'm over 40, won't bother me which one wins as long as one of them does!

Last week I really started hoping for a David Cook, Sayesha finale (if for no other reason, they could do a beautiful duet together as they both have power in their voices) and honestly, if she has to go home this week (heck I will finally start voting) I kind of hope Jason's eyes will break the Davids (obviously sending David A. home).

I feel that David Archuleta has the best voice, can sing most any style, and remains unflustered on the stage. However, like Clay Aiken, it will be fine with me if he comes in 2nd, as he can than go on and sign a contract with whatever producer/recording company he cares to and I will be buying his music.

David Cook IS good, but hasn't shown quite as much flexibility in style of music.

jayxtwo, I have to respectfully diagree with you. I don't see that David A has ANY kind of flexibility. He sings the inspirational ballads and not much else. I pretty much know exactly what he's going to sing when each week rolls around. He has a good voice and I think he'll be fine either way, but I believe it would be better for him to get a few more years of experience. I wouldn't exactly say that David Cook is completely unique, but I do think he mixes it up way more than David A does and has a better overall presence on stage. But like you, I'd prefer it if my favorite (David C) came in second place so he's not tied down with the AI contract.

Everyone should listen to "Always Be My Baby" as David C. does a fantastic rendition. He has range, power, he reaches the high notes with ease and can sustain the low notes. David C. has it all, he can sing a ballad and rock out the house.

David A. as adorable as he is can only sing a ballad. He can do that very well, but that is all he has done. Also, with what has happened to Jordin Sparks, David A. should take notice. A strain on the too young vocal cords could be a disaster.

David C. and Syesha would be nice. But I know with will probably be the two Davids.

I AM A HUGE DAVID COOK FAN AND I WANT HIM TO WIN NO SECOND PLEASE. HE WILL BE THE FIRST WINNER I HAVE VOTED FOR. I AM MORE FOR THE ROCKER TYPE AND MY FAVORITE HAS ALWAYS BEEN ELIMANATED, INCLUDING BO BICE AND CHRIS DAUGHTRY. I DID LIKE CARRIE UNDERWOOD AND THAT WAS MY FIRST YEAR OF WATCHING AND NO ROCKER HAS WON YET!!!

Yay! I LOVE David Cook! If I had my way, it would be David and David for the finale, with Cookie as the winner.

I truly think that david archeleta is in trouble this week if you guys dont' vote for him. Jason Castro must go and should have gone a long time ago -- doesn't it bother anyone that he has made it this much farther than michael johns?

Don't think archeleta is safe, for the first time according to dialidol, he was number 3.

David A is the best and even though he probally won't win since most people seem to like David C better (I don't care for him myself, he is way to arrogant) David A. will be a big success like clay Aiken. He should go to Broadway. As to David C. I wouldn't buy any of his albums.

I honestly do not get the hype over Archie. His stage presence is severely lacking. He's often off pitch. Every single song is exactly the same. An album of his would be extremely dull. He's also smarmy as hell. His "aw shucks" routine got old after about two days.

I thought Carly was the best in the bunch. I honestly do not even know who root for now. I suppose out of those four it would be cook, but I thought Carly was a lot better than him.

I had this little thought to share: I think David Cook could have the same broad appeal as Jon Bon Jovi, but he has the more thinking-man's appeal of Bono. Anyone else see it? (I don't think he's arrogant, I just think he's intelligent and oft times misunderstood.)

I miss Carly the most!

I'd love to see a Cook-Mercado finale! I LOVED when she sang "Me and Mr. Jones," weeks back. I'd like to see Cook win, though!

I'm not an Archuleta fan, but I think it's awesome that he's popular among teenagers...such a refreshing change over the likes of sleazoids like Justin Timberlake. Archuleta always sings songs with powerful and such mature meaning!

I keep feeling befuddled by all of those who refer to David C as "arrogant" or "cold". What you call arrogant I call reserved.

I don't think he always shows a lot of emotion due to the fact that he keeps getting told he's going to win this competition already! If I were him and hearing that almost ever week on stage I wouldn't know what to say or emotion to show that wouldn't come across as "well gee yeah of course I am" or pure excitement because THEN that would be arrogance. I see someone who continually wants to burst at the seams when told these things and can only just nod a polite Thank You.

And I really do hope he wins, he does have the range and the power. His voice can handle many different styles. Sure his lower register isn't always the strongest but not every professional and successful vocalist can handle every song style. He's a rock musician pure and simple.

My husband and I initially liked Archie as well but man oh man he's just too young and too blah now. I want someone who can get me going not put me to sleep.
