Top 3 Power Rankings: Here Comes David A.!

The penultimate round of TVGuide.com's American Idol Power Rankings offers no surprises as to who's in the lead or bringing up the rear. No, the story here is that David Archuleta, with 29.7 percent of the reader vote, has delivered his best numbers since the Top 10! Could this new momentum, perhaps coupled by some compassion/sympathy spurred on by recent headlines, push Archie into a super-close contest with Cookie (presuming that Syesha is next to bid us adieu)?
Plucky, resilient Syesha still can't muster up double digits, this despite knocking all but two of the finalists from the running and being the sole female left in the race. If it did come down to her and one of the Davids, though, how high a vote percent do you think she might get?

It doesn't take a genius to figure out Archuleta's numbers went up because Jason is now gone.

I think David A probably is getting a lot of Jason's votes BUT I also think he and David Cook should be paired for the final two (even thou Syesha has FINALLY been delivering fantastic performances) and it will be a REAL contest to see which of them win. I hope that's the way it comes down, anyway, and I'm one of the people having a hard time chosing between the two. There could be many more like me so it'll all boil down to the final delivery of songs. Go guys - it's been a fun season!

Poor Syesha. She has finally started to give amazing performances, but will still probably be next to go. Well, as long as David Cook wins, that's fine with me. He has the most vocal range, best voice(IMO), and is completely gorgeous. Go David Cook!

I think its obvious both David A and Cook are benefiting from Jason's exit, while Syesha is still struggling to gain recognition. Either way, if it's truly a "singing" competition, it should come down to the 2 Davids, with Archuleta* winning it all!

I'm pretty sure it will be a David v David finale, though good for Syesha for getting as far as she has (who would have thought? no one!). I am still gunning big time for Cook, and apparently many of you still are, too (yay!). I think a David v David finale is what the producers have wanted for a long time (talking to you, Nigel), and I would be shocked if they didn't get it.

I know we all feel bad for David Archuleta and his daddy issues, but I am still hoping that Sayesha pulls through (she does poll slightly higher in other polls). I just so see a finale where all the claims of this being the most talented top ten or whatever only being realized with a David Cook/Sayesha Mercado finale.

I think David Cook is the most creative and talented and should win. I love the chances he takes, the man can sing!!!! I believe the little boy, David Archuleta, should not go any further because his father, the puppetmaster, has been controlling him with his music and arrangements, which has been totally unfair to the other contestants. I don't think Archie, the puppet, has an original bone is his body. So, I think the finals should be David Cook and Syesha Mercado, with David Cook winning.

I totally agree. And, if for some odd reason Cook doesn't win (hello, tweenies with 10 Go Phones..ugh), I still thank American Idol for bringing David Cook into the spotlight....he's really very very good

Without Jason in the competition I don't care about American Idol Top 3. They are good, but not as great as Jason!

The finale should be David vs. David with DAVID COOK taking the IDOL crown! He IS the whole package - plain & simple. No contest in my eyes! He had me at "Hello".  FDL-out!

now that Carly has been wrongfully banned from AI, the only person to vote for really is David Cook..... too bad the final hadn't come down to DC and CS.

please! david cook vs syesha. archie has such a whiny, irritating voice. only a 12-year-old could find him attractive, or an "idol." he is too young for this--school and all. let's have a real guy, and an amazing, original voice win this. and when are they going to have one phone/one vote??

PROOF OF AMERICAN IDOL FRAUD!!!!
This is the second year in a row that American
Idol has had a songwriting contest. Since the
contest ended last year I've researched the
contestants from last year and this year....FYI
there were over 25,000 entries last year at
$10.00 for each song. 20 songs were then
chosen out of the 25,000 for an online vote.
The winner's song is then performed on the
American Idol Finale. The problem I have is
that one of THIS years Top 20 Finalist is a
Co-writer of LAST years Top 20 Winner.
Somebody from American Idol has some
explaining to do.
