American Idol Power Rankings: The Top 12
|
I pretty much agree on all way the poll came out. Altho I think Chikezie should have been gone 2 weeks ago. Sidenote: The headline should read "top 12" not 16.

As I've said before, David A's huge lead makes this season boring and not really worth watching.

David A's lead will not remain that strong because favorites always shift around as the season goes on and someone has a breakout performance or it starts to be clear someone is a one-trick pony. There also ends up being new votes available when someone gets kicked off - their fans decide to send their support to a new person, which can change things up.

David Cook gets better and better each week. He's the one the others have to be looking out for.
I listened to the I-Tunes cuts of each performer and when you're not watching the performance, his sound is really good. David A's is pretty good, too. Some of the others - Michael Johns in particular - sound kinda bad when you just listen. Brooke actually sounds pretty good, too. So do Jason and David H. But "Hello" is the best cut of all when you listen back.
Kristie Lee, Syesha, Chikezie, and Amanda will probably be the next four to exit. Then, if things stand the way they are now, it will start to get pretty interesting.

I think that they are ALL pretty BORING except David Archuleta. However, Syesha does have a very pretty voice. I'm surprised she was rated that low. She needs to find a way to prove it and use to her advantage, by singing the right song. Looking back at American Idol Rewind. It was more exciting and tense back then, because there were some great singers (more than one). Now only bits and pieces of AI is good.

Yes, Little David is good, but I think the judges, et al have pushed him at us way too early. I personally don't think he's the Chose One; too much talent this year for him to be crowned the winner this early. And yes, it is boring when TPTB want us to believe he is the one to beat.
However, knowing how fickle America is - all this kid needs to do is have two not-so-good performances in a row and he could be gone, or else not the favorite to win. Last week's perforomance was good, but not goose-bump good. It was above average. No big deal. And that breathing problem he has is beginning to be very noticeable.
I'll still watch and for the first time in several seasons, I will vote this year (and vote often) for the ones who I believe are just as good if not better than Little David.

I'm sure people felt the same way about Melinda at this time last year that they do about David A. right now. We all know how that turned out.
Carly & Michael are fading fast,as they should. All the hype and potential just isn't panning out. Syesha needs stage presence that goes beyond make eyes at the camera. Nice voice, but it comes across as acting more than singing and it's just bland. Speaking of bland, that Chikezie has survived at all surprises me to no end. And the best thing that can happen to Brooke is to get halfway through and then get eliminated. She should get a smaller deal that will allow her to write songs and not be pushed as a pop star.

I think the poll results are absurd. The final two will be David and Carly. She is clearly the best singer after David (and perhaps better).

honestly, david cook is my choice to win. i love david a but if he wins, i dont really see his album selling very well. i think hes very good but i think people are jumping the gun on him a little to fast. we need to look at who would actually sell more records if they win american idol. the only one i can see is david cook since rock seems to be pretty big nowadays. but thats just me!

I think that Carly Smithson and David Hernandez should be much higher.

I really can't stand David Archuleta. He really bugs me and I really don't think you'll ever hear him on the radio. So far I'd have to go with Jason with dreads. At least he sounds different and doesn't have to screech the high note. Does anybody really like that? David Cook is also one to watch, but he probably won't go far because he's trying to rock out on a grandma show.

Syesha is not supposed to be number 11! And Kristy Lee, what's so special about her?? HUH?!

I can't see David A. winning. He is this season's Melinda Doolittle - so clearly ahead of the rest of the pack way too early - although in David's case I'm not sure its all to do with talent. I don't think he's half the singer Melinda was.
I don't believe for a second that the results of the show are based purely on audience voting (if at all!) so we will be led to believe David will win up to a point, but he won't make the final. LaToya London anyone?
I think this year's pack is pretty talented, and I'd be happy to see Jason, Carly, Brooke, and Michael battle it out for the top spots. Or Syesha and Ramielle could be up there too.

Totally agree with Little Archie being #1 - "Cute as a button" and absolutely an Idol's voice! If Cook and Castro can continue to do as well as last week, well we will see. I also think Carly Smithson should be directly under #1 spot. I do wonder why Simon's favor seems to be with Brooke White.
