Massive DVD Piracy Bust in Canada
Just a few weeks ago I warned people to watch out for the "Complete Series Set" which show up on various websites. These are complete series releases for shows that haven't been released yet - they're pirated DVD sets.
My timing couldn't have been better! On December 19, 50 RCMP officers carried out search warrants on two locations in Montreal, and seized 15,000 pirated DVDs. They also intercepted 5,000 discs that were being mailed out over the course of 4 days. The 200 DVD burners could copy 14,000 discs a day!
