Cheers: Chalke One Up for HIMYM!
Sarah Chalke and Josh Radnor in How I Met Your Mother by Monty Brinton/CBS
Cheers to How I Met Your Mother for booking a brilliant guest star: Sarah Chalke. Oh, Britney Spears was on, too, and she was fine in her relatively minor role as a ditzy receptionist. But as Stella, a dermatologist who removed the butterfly "tramp stamp" from Ted's back, Chalke — reportedly a last-minute replacement for Alicia Silverstone — displayed real chemistry with Josh Radnor. (Not surprisingly, the Scrubs doc looked totally comfortable in her white coat.) CBS' on-the-bubble sitcom deftly used Spears' publicity-generating gig to lure viewers for a key episode that may have finally introduced us to the titular mother. Did you catch the hint about how Stella went to a St. Patrick's Day party? And how charming was Ted's "two-minute date" (all shot in one take, no less)? To quote Barney, it... was... legendary!

My sentiments exactly! I loved the two-minute date -- and the way it was left open for her to return. Maybe it takes 10 years for them to get together again -- because once Lucy goes off to college, Stella will finally have some free time to spend with Ted.

Oh, it was so cute! I even kinda liked Britney in her role, although I didn't care for the ending when she chased him down the street.
I love Alicia Silverstone, but as I watched the episode, I was so glad it was Sarah instead (my favorite of the 2 Roseanne Beckys).
The "two-minute date" was the stuff HIMYM is made of, it is the true genius of the show.

Sarah Chalke is the best. I loved the scenes where he is trying to win her over and she even falls off her stool. They definitely left it open, but if the kids have an older half sister - I think it would be obvious to them that this is her.
Great episode and great choice with Sarah. And Britney wasn't bad, I had my doubts, but she didn't distract.

Sarah Chalke was great and the 2 minute date was adorable. Hopefully she'll be able to return to HIMYM whenever Scrubs finally wraps up.

Those two minutes were absolutely charming. Loved Ted and Stella's chemistry, they were great together. They should be finished filming Scrubs by the end of summer, right? If HIMYM survives cancellation, they could totally bring Sarah on next season.

I really liked Sarah Chalke in this role. She was calm, charming, and basically everything her character on Scrubs is not.
As for long term, I don't think I would want her to be the mother. The two kids on the sofa are not far enough apart in age to be her 8 year old and then another kid they had together. And the 8 year old would already remember how Ted met her mother, so I don't think saying it's her now would be something we could let slide with the whole backstory of telling his kids about it.
I actually thought that she would be a good match for Barney. I hope for Barney to find a woman that makes him want to be together forever, and thought that she could possibly be his "one". I also think that Barney could have it in him to be a good stepfather.
Britney was not too bad. It was nice to see her somewhat resemble herself, in her healthier days.
I hope this show gets renewed, soon.

Sarah Chalke was among the best guest stars the show has had and she really clicked with Josh on screen. As for Britney at least they put her in a role, total nutjob, that didn't require her to actually act. Also, they could have done worse then Britney, they could have cast Paris.

I don't think people give Britney enough credit. For her to go out there after her public breakdown, I think she did a good job. I think people need to realize she was diagnosed with a disorder and is hopefully getting treated for it. It sounds like she has a good support system now though. As for the rest of the show. I thought it was great and the 2 minute date was fun and romantic.

I think all you HIMYM fans should be thanking Britney, not only did she get your show more publicity than it has ever gotten, it got it's highest demo rating ever.
Sarah Chalke should be thanking Britney too, she has been on Scrubs for years and she makes one guest appearance and she is all over the place.
Alicia Silverston on the other hand, you messed up..clearly.

Sarah Chalke is a great actress. Alicia Who? The chemistry was great! She's gonna need a job once NBC completely screws Scrubs and cancels it probably without a finale. Bring her on the show. She is so adorable!

Dude, last nights show was awesome. I mean, I love this show. I don't think Britney ruined the show one bit. I give her kudos for her portrayal of the receptionist. And don't even get me started on Sarah Chalke. I watch Scrubs, so i've been a fan of her's for a while. I loved from when she fell out the chair to when they watched the worst movie ever made.
I'm begging CBS to renew this show.

While NBC is dumping scrubs, the show won't be screwed or left without a finale because ABC is picking it up for a whole new season of 18 episodes.
Not official yet, but darn close.

Sarah was incredible, and she and Josh *did* show amazing chemistry...I wouldn't be the least bit sad if Stella turns out to be the mother, though the whole "I have an eight-year-old daughter" thing was kinda weird in the context of the show (I mean only if Stella does one day become Ms. Mosby, of course, but still).
Crapney, on the other hand...oh dear Lord. I mean, nobody would shut up about how incredibly amazing her performance was and everything, so when I finally watched the ep this morning I was scared at how people have no critic sense whatsoever. I mean, just because she wasn't a COMPLETE disaster, it doesn't mean she gave a good performance, not even an average one. She was forced, she looked retarded rather than sweet (sure, she *is* kinda retarded, but you know, she was supposed to ACT) and seriously, WHAT THE HELL was that "If the bed isn't broken, can we have sex in it?"???? I mean, out of context much? Just felt so weird and forced (again, *not* for Crapney herself or at least her public persona, but she's supposed to be playing a character!). A wonderful episode that would be so much better with anyone else (except maybe for Lindsay Lohan and Paris Hilton :-P) playing the receptionist part! At least it was a much smaller role than I was expecting.
