Reader's Cheer of the Week: I Love CSI: NY's Carmine

Cheers to Carmine Giovinazzo for pulling out yet another stellar performance on CSI: NY. Give this man an Emmy nomination already! His portrayal of Danny Messer in the Dec. 12 episode was heartbreaking and moving. He doesn’t get the credit he deserves for his wonderful acting, which proves he is much more than one of TV Guide’s Sexiest Men on TV. He’s an amazing actor.

There are many viewers that would agree with you. Lots of Carmine's fans post over on The CSI Files message board at talk.csifiles.com in the New York Forum.

I am a faithful CSI: NY viewer and I think Carmine Giovinazzo normally does a good job with the character, but his performance in "Child's Play" was far from Emmy-worthy. He's not the best actor on the show, much less on all TV.

I stopped watching CSI:NY during the first season and started watching it again after I caught a more "Carmine" focused episode. He was so entertaining and intriguing that I haven't stopped watching it since.

I use to be a big fan of this show; never missed an episode. Carmine was NOT one of the reasons I watched, however. Now I just don't watch. Once the CSIs took over chasing the bad guys, leaving Eddie Cahill's character in the dust, and giving HIM orders, I became a disgruntled viewer and then not even that. I cannot stand the "almost got all my breast tissue out there for all to see" CSI character. I cannot remember her name, let alone spell it. Greek girl I think. This show needs to be cancelled and a cartoon put in its place.

It's okay to disagree about Carmine being worthy for an Emmy-nod. My praise is for his performance in that particular episode. I believe that when the material is there, Carmine shines. He is not the sole reason I watch the show either. I just feel that his performance in that particular episode was wonderful.

I disagree about Eddie Cahill's character. He's an asset to CSI: NY and the still faithful viewers of the show look forward to him each week. Often, he's the best part of each episode. If you want, and I won't tell anyone ;), check out reruns from this season. He's great. You just might change your mind.

Carmine is incredible. But one person can rarely carry a whole show.
I do deserve more credit for his perfomances
