Jeers: Lara Flynn Boyle Overheats Law & Order

080313cheers-lara-flynn-boy.jpg
Lara Flynn Boyle by Jeffrey Mayer/WireImage.com
Jeers to Lara Flynn Boyle for her ludicrous performance on Law & Order. Virtually unrecognizable from her days on another legal drama, The Practice, the puffed-up actress so overplayed the role of unscrupulous reporter Dawn Talley — who slept with not one but two murder suspects — she made Dirt's Lucy Spiller (Courteney Cox) look like Jim Lehrer. And we were supposed to believe that hard-charging ADA Michael Cutter (Linus Roache) was temporarily hoodwinked by this "lying slut" (as Alana De La Garza's ADA Connie Rubirosa called her)? That's out of Order!

I just don't understand. Lara Flynn Boyle was criticized in the press for being anorexic! Now that she has some meat on her bones she is being called "puffed-up". What do you people want!!!!!!

"Puffed-up" wasn't referring to her weight--rather, her whole face (lips, cheeks) looked oddly, shall we say, augmented.

I agree, her face looked odd. And it never moved. He face looked like she had been stung by a bee repeatedly, and I actually found it very distracting. I wondered if it was just me, but I guess not...?<img border=">

I've got to admit, I didn't recognize her at first. "Augmented" is kind, Bruce. "Distorted" might be more accurate.

I found her face oddly puffy compared to how thin she was as well.

It was a weird episode.. I loved how fired up Rubirosa was over her.. too funny!

But Cutter seems to be a fly by the seat of his pants type guy so it could be believable about falling for Boyle's character..... maybe?

I was disturbed by the puffiness as well. And it did distract me from listening to what she was saying. She looked fake.

was it her acting that was so bad? or was her face just that distracting? I'm not saying I disagree, Bruce, I just wonder if she was an actress you'd never seen before would that performance itself have been worthy of a jeer?

she does look awful. what does she think when she looks in the mirror?

I thought the performance itself was Jeer-worthy. She was so over-the-top, I couldn't believe Cutter would fall for her act.

I think her face was most distracting. I do think she has gained a little bit of her much needed weight.

And while the performance wasn't her best, the role and the script were horrendous, and it's my opinion that most of the problem lies there.

She looks HORRIBLE! Her lips were taking over her face! The only reason I knew it was her was because of the promos for the show. WTF was she thinking with the collogen (sp?) injections. WOW - ICK

Bruce - sorry, I misunderstood you. Yes, her face is very "augmented". I was just so happy to see some weight on her for a change!

That was really the only thing I could (involuntarily) focus on during the episode-
Maybe Jack let her borrow some of his Joker prosthetics.....
Lara Flynn Bobble-heads the next big thing on ebay?

Let's put aside Boyle's ...er..."transformation" for a minute.

The episode itself was worth a JEER. This whole season has been 1 of the best since the Great Lenny Briscoe ruled the streets. But last night's episode was kinda...boring. Nothing spectacular. A reporter who sleeps around for a story, thats new?

I hope next week is better. And I wonder how they will play "Ed Green's" exit.
