Jeers: Celebrity Trump Roast
Marilu Henner by Justin Stephens/NBC Photo
Jeers to The Celebrity Apprentice for engaging in huge hyperbole (even by Trump standards). The premiere touted the contestants as "14 of the world's most successful celebrities." Really? Stephen Baldwin? He's not even one of the most successful Baldwin brothers! Marilu Henner? She's doing better than ex-Taxi costar Jeff Conaway (who's now in VH1's Celebrity Rehab), but that's not saying much. And Omarosa? Competitor Vincent Pastore put it best: "Ponderosa? Nobody knows who she is. Fuhgeddabout her." This show's casting director should be fired!

I've never watched The Apprentice, and none of the "celebrities" they acquired for this version is any enticement to start. OK, I do like Trace Adkins, and I'm disappointed that he'd even take part in this train wreck. But all in all, when the cast list was announced, I wondered when the word celebrity was defined as, "someone whose name is somewhat familiar...maybe." I think Dancing with the Stars is to blame.

Former Olympic gymnast Nadia Comenici is one of the contestants and yet she hardly did anything in the first episode! Based on that, she'll probably be there for a long time. Having missed the last season, I'm noticing the abscence of George, Carolyn (who I know was actually fired by The Donald), and secretary Robin. And whose idea was it to have the opposing team watch the boardroom meeting on television? How Big Brother of them!

As an Apprentice fan, I was just glad to see the show return, rather then its original predicted cancelled fate. I thought the whole Omorosa thing was a bit wacky, but I loved Gene Simmmons. I hope he stays around for a while cause I think him and Piers will provide some much needed conflict against Omorosa.

This show is back on track after last times derailment to LA. It seems like Omarosa is really playing her bitch card and is bitchier than before. I think she believes her own press. And what was up with her saying she "unfortunately" knew Stephen Baldwin?! I knew she wouldn't get fired last night because I saw previews of her pouring water on Piers.
No, these are not the most successful celebrities in the world (I haven't heard of some of them.), but they are celebrities.
I really think ONO should have taken more heat for refusing to play the celeb card and acting like she was back on season 1 with a team of unknowns.
I also think she was really crass in her comments about Tiff not being a good seller even though she sold "ass" in Playboy. Well, ONO isn't Hugh Hefner and Tiff wasn't told to put it out there.
It seems like the rules are different with celebs. They can use past contacts and they get driven away in a town car not a taxi.
This looks like a good season.

Apprentice Celebrities???? Who cares. The show stopped being good at the end of season 1 as all "reality" shows do. Once this type of show is out there and everyone has watched it, the new "contestants" know how the game is played or they are looking to use the show as a vehicle to become a model, actor/actress or something else in showbiz.
Having these so called celebrities as the contestants just shows an attempt to put something on TV to fill the space left over by the strike and keep a show on that has lost viewers every year.

I don't know why anybody ever watched this show, (for that matter why anybody watches any "reality" show.) The idea that any aspiring business person would want to work for this horse's ass is a true mystery. How many times does a person have to fail at business ventures before everyone realizes he is not that good at it?

I'd like to know how Omarosa is considered a celebrity? I can see how all the others were selected. She is no more than someone who appeared on a game show. I don't consider people on Wheel of Fortune as celebrities. I agree with the one guy who said Omarosa who? She's nobody. The problem is, she thinks she is. Donald needs to burst her bubble and show her she is a nobody in the Celebrity world. Donald, it was wrong of you to fire Tiffany. I can understand your reasoning, but Omarosa was the Team Leader. What upset me about Tiffany is that she didn't speak up. Why didn't she tell you Omarosa was behind them not using their Celebrity status. She told them up front not to, that she was in charge and she didn't want them to use this strategy. Tiffany was only doing what her teamleader told her to do. Omarosa should have gotten fired. I think Donald just wants to keep her around for excitement. She needs to go. If she stays on there I will probably stop watching it. I can't go thru watching her every week putting the blame on everyone else and not admitting to her own mistakes. Just think if Marilu had followed Omarosa's instructions and not used her celebrity status, they wouldn't have brought in as much as they did. Good for you Marilu.

I just watched the premiere episode and it's really weak. Here's why: 1. The celebs are B- and C- list grade, heck I didn't even know the country singer dude. And Marilu Henner from "Taxi" in the 70s !
2. I (still) don't like the editing that's done. They showed how the women's team selected their first project manager, but they didn't show the men's. The men beat the women in the first fund-raising challenge but they didn't show how, pissed me off.
3. Omarosa has returned as one of the has-been celebs. And though she claimed she had changed she's still the same vicious, evil harpie as before. Worse, she was the women's project manager because she basically demanded it, her strategy was pathetic and the single most reason why they lost, and yet she wasn't fired. The show's integrity is seriously compromised.
4. Trump's assistants are his two kids, Donald and Ivanka, which look like young clones of his. I never have liked nepotism and I'm certain Trump thinks of himself as some modern day Egyptian pharaoh starting a new dynasty. 5. Finally, the first fund raising challenge was for these celebs to sell hot dogs on the streets of NYC. I thought that was a demeaning and inappropriate activity to assign to them. Though they're secondary celebs you don't treat them like high school kids. That's just more of Trump's arrogance in evidence. I'm really starting to develop a bad taste for that man.
I see no further motivation to watch any more of this idiocy. It should be the last attempt of this series. They must bury it.

Actually, even though most of these stars are C-rated, the fact remains, they turned what ever status they had into business and that is why they are on the show. I have never really heard of most of them except Marilu and I know that she is or was a successful business woman at one time. Its for charity...and that is best part of it.. not that they think they are important, but the cause they are fighting for is.

It's just a light, fun show that I watch but don't take too seriously. My question is, will the winner actually get a job with Trump?
