Benjamin Bratt by Michael Yarish/A&E
Jeers to The Cleaner for being such a mess. Never have I seen a show try so hard to be gritty and end up so corny. Benjamin Bratt's overheated A&E drama opens with a Law & Order-like disclaimer, stating that "extreme interventionist" William Banks is "not a cop. He's not a superhero. He's just a man with a Calling. This is his story." That story includes some of the hokiest dialogue ("Get the team together — we got a kid in trouble!") and worst acting I've ever seen (sorry, Grace Park fans). Somebody needs to send The Cleaner's writers into rehab: They're addicted to clichés.
