Cheers: Friday Night Lights' Landry Scores a Touchdown

Jesse Plemons and Adrianne Palicki in Friday Night Lights by Bill Records/NBC
Cheers to Friday Night Lights for putting Jesse Plemons in the spotlight. The native Texan — and Matt Damon doppelgänger — quietly stole scenes last season as Landry Clarke, wisecracking pal to QB Matt Saracen (Zach Gilford).

This season Landry’s stepping up, helping Tyra (Adrianne Palicki) fend off her attacker. Lone Star State football legend Tom Landry would be proud of his namesake.

Yup... Jesse Plemmons is awesome!

And I love Landry defending Tyra, just wish there were different circumstances.

I'm glad to see him get more screentime. He deserves it!

Landry is one of my favorite characters, however I don't see the Matt Damon thing, he reminds me of the country singer, Randy Travis (except for the dark hair). He talks just like him.

In the Oct. 8 issue of the magazine, we have separated-at-birth style photos of Plemons and Damon, and the resemblance is eerie. Check it out!

I've been watching FNL since EP1 and I never thought my main joy in watching would be the Tyra/Landry storyline but IT IS!! Julie's acting like a typical immature "gimme gimme gimme" teenage girl, coach and wife storyline really bites as they shouldn't have been separated and the cheerleader turned over the top about god storyline also jumped the shark. It's not like she suffered a tramatic moment last season. The auto-salesman guy who's a drunk, coward and adulter runs the town? Pahleeze. Yes my friends, Tyra and Landry storyline is the only one that really leaves that same feeling we all had last season. True and in the pit of your stomach. Landry's dad being a cop... priceless. Tyra holding landry's hand and then falling for him .. it just doesn't get any better than that.

Go Tyra & Landry!
