Cheers: Monk's Brad Behavior

Cheers to Brad Garrett for his image-changing guest spot on Monk. The 'Til Death star livened up the seventh-season premiere as "Honest Jake," a murderous handyman hired by Tony Shalhoub's obsessive-compulsive detective to fix up his new house. (The inside joke here, of course, is that Garrett was TV's original poster boy for OCD as cop Robert Barone on Everybody Loves Raymond.) The 6'8" Garrett effectively used his size for menace rather than mirth. Maybe he can intimidate Death's writers to give him scripts equal to his talent.

I'm definitely not a fan of Brad Garrett, so I really didn't like this episode of Monk. The story was good and I liked how they remembered Stanley Kamel, but I could have done without Robert.

I enjoyed Sarah Silverman's guest spot on last years premiere a million times more than this one.

Psych was pretty awesome as usual though.

Not one of my favorite episodes...except the tribute to Dr. Kroger!! He will be missed.

Now I know this is not supposed to be reality, but at some point, wouldn't SOMEONE comment on how much the contactor (Garrett) was tearing up the house? All those holes, ripping out the wiring, demolishing the floor...and not finishing anything. Come on! Someone would have at least had to ask about the possibility of a scam...right? These are cops...and they don't even question the way the job was being done? I thought that was too over the top.

I enjoyed it. There was one point (don't remember particulars) when he introduced his partner as Ramone. I could have sworn he gave one of those looks that were always reserved for Raymond.

I really enjoyed this episode. Not as much as I enjoyed the Psych premiere, but it was a good season premiere. I enjoyed this premiere a lot more than last seasons one.

Looking forward to another great season of Monk and Psych.

Wow! A cheer?? For Brad Garrett?? I didn't think T.V. Guide was allowed to do anything but make fun of him. It's about time he got some sort of recognition from this website for some of his work.
He did a great job playing the heavy. He has a great range as an actor. I had the great honor of seeing his performance on Broadway once and he was incredible. I'm not a huge Monk follower, I've seen it a handful of times, but I thought his character was quite believable. Any mistakes were with the writers, not the actors. For example: If Jake had access to a gun, why didn't he just shoot the nurse? Something to think about.
Great job Brad. I'm glad to see T.V. Guide notice something nice about you for a change.

Last week you had a cheer for Brad Garrett's performance on Monk. Okay I'll agree with that, however I would like to jeer him and the rest of the cast of "Everybody Loves Raymond".
When "The Great One" Jackie Gleason dies the remaining cast members had a tribute for him and Pat Garrett played Jackie Gleason in a TV Movie.
YET WHEN PETER BOYLE PASSED AWAY NONE OF THE CAST MEMBER PAID TRIBUTE. JEERS TO ROMANO, HEATON, ROBERTS,AND GARRETT.
