Vincent D'Onofrio Is Not Leaving Law & Order

Despite what Vincent D'Onofrio allegedly told an Aussie publication, the actor insists he does not have one foot out the door at Law & Order: CI.

"I am not leaving Law & Order: Criminal Intent and have every intention of fulfilling my contractual obligations on the show," he said in a statement issued by his rep. "I still find playing the role of Robert Goren interesting and enjoy working with the writers, cast and crew of Criminal Intent."

Once more with feeling, buddy?

This all may be a moot point anyway, since the chances of CI seeing another season are iffy at best. Which brings me to my next question: Would anyone miss it?

I would miss it! I've watched since the beginning and I still think it's a good show. I love the partnership between Goren and Eames. I hope it's around for at least a little longer!

Too bad he's not leaving ; he's the reason I don't like nor watch the show any longer. I hear that L&O may end this season, leaving only SVU.

I am a Logan fan - I wouldn't miss Goren in the least. Loved the episode featuring Chris Noth a while back - his partner didn't know the answer to someone's question and Logan said "Goren would have known" - HILARIOUS!!!!

I love D'Onofrio's film work but Goren is in the same catagory as Horatio Caine on CSI Miami! I hate them both!!

JewishMama, if you don't watch the show, what difference does it make to you whether he stays or not? I don't watch Grey's Anatomy, yet I don't wish any ill will for that show. I love the characters of Goren and Eames and I hope the show stays for another season or two.

LMAO, Can someone let Vincent know that there is a great invention called the Internet. If you do an interview for a newspaper and even though it's halfway around the world, it will still get back to your bosses in the US of A! :^O Insert foot into mouth!

Iffy? CI is helping to prop up the Tues and Sat schedules, esp as solid counterprogramming to House and Idol. I think NBC has bigger problems.

He might intend to stay with L&O, but that doesn't mean that Dick Wolf won't decide that he's too much of a headache and stick with Chris Noth - IF the show comes back.

The only episode of Criminal Intent that I ever really loved was the one with Stephen Colbert, and that's really because I'm a huge Colbert fan.

Dear Mr. Ausiello-
Thank you for confirming that this article was incorrect and that Vincent D'Onofrio is not leaving Criminal Intent.
However, your remark of would anyone care well yes many, many people would care. I suggest you take a look at the CI website as well as the many Vincent D'Onofrio websites.
CI is great and is changing which is always good, Goren and Eames both are evolving their characters and many people both in the US and other countries like Australia just love CI.
There is no question that Mr. D'Onofrio is one of the finest and talented actors today and this season has produced even more proof of that.
I suggest you take a look at this season's first episode and watch the ending with the dialogue between Vincent and Martha Plimpton. Just brilliant.

Yes, there are tons of people who would miss CI, and Vincent D'Onofrio. Bobby Goren is and always will be Criminal Intent, and only Vincent is Bobby Goren. I love the show, the character of Bobby Goren, and think Vincent D'Onofrio is the best actor out there.

I think NBC has bigger problems.

Exactly. NBC had ONE breakout show this season, Heroes. Despite critical acclaim for their other shows, nothing else has broken through. I can see them dumping one L&O show, but what's the point of dumping two if there's nothing to back it up?

Michael, I know that you are a SVU and Mariska fan. However, when it comes to your opinion of CI and Vincent D'Onofrio I completely do not understand you and you truly offend me. Your perspective of talent is, in my opinion, somewhat skewed.

To "anothercrazycanuck":
From what I've heard, the Aussie article had many errors in it and was taken from a variety of sources over time, not necessarily recent information. It sounds more like the author of the Aussie article ought to be the one to insert her/his foot in mouth, not Mr. D'Onofrio.

And Mr. Ausiello:
Will anyone miss LO-CI? Yes, many of us will. Although I like all three, CI is my favourite. I'd love to see it go on for many more seasons like the other shows.

Would anyone care? Are you kidding? I'm amazed at just how broad the appeal is for this show. I find myself talking about it with men and women in their 20s, 30s and 40s and even some teenagers. It's the Sherlock Holmes aspect that hooks people and while it's wained a bit (and is absent from the Logan episodes entirely), it's still a draw for viewers. Now if they'd only stop with so many reruns, that's what has to be hurting the shows ratings. It feels as if they show one or two new episodes and then it's a month of repeats.
But to return to the point, this is still one of the best shows on tv thanks to D'Onofrio/Erbe and the writers.
